Introduction

Social Networking Websites refer to web-based services, which permit individuals to communicate with a list of other users connected to the same website and thus, share a connection. It also allows a person to create a semi-public or public profile amid a bounded system, navigate and view list of connection made by others and their own within the same website. The nomenclature and nature of social networking websites varies from one site to the other. Accordingly, since the introduction of these websites like Google, Facebook and MySpace among others, many users have integrated the websites into their day-to-day practices.

Real life situations and people with common things are highly favored by the social networking sites. It provides a platform that enables people with the same interests and activities to share their experiences, ideas and life progress. Social networking provides a place where one can display his or her personal information such as personal photos and information. It can therefore, be generalized as a community or a pool of people. Talking of someone keeping in touch with someone miles away is no longer a surprise or strange news today. Through the social networking, one can share ideas or expressions. However, this essay discusses on the core strength of a social networking company and the terms that one has to experience so as to come up with a social networking website or a company. The essay also focuses on addressing the resources of a social networking site basing on the fact that it makes the whole world a small community.

Google+ is an example of a social networking site that has been available in the market for quite some time. It has however, attracted many users and currently, there are approximately 400 million users of this social site. The main objective of the Google+ social site is ties all the social activities to measurable and meaningful economic value and makes them more effective.

Some of the core strengths of the Google+ social site include shared interests. Google+ presents a chance for individuals to share their interest and connect with their friends. Other than other social sites such as Facebook and twitter, Google+ has a feature of forming circles that connect a series of friends with shared common interests.

Another point is the visibility of the user’s website. Google+ is a product of the Google search engine. It therefore, means that the website of one is majored and visible to all. The fact that Google+ entails sharing ideas and discussing topics, then websites are made visible to all so as others can check on the websites and otherwise draw contents that could possible help them. It also has the ability to be influential faster: this social site is growing at a faster rate. More people are subscribing to the service, and this makes it possible for individuals to have many friends within a short time. On opening an account, and gaining as many friends as possible, then one will be influential due to the large gathering. Lastly, it is an advantage on small businesses. The small businesses are on the advantage in expanding their businesses by the use of Google+. This is mainly through advertising their products and goods to their customers (Daniella, 2011). Google+ social site is a non-profit making site and most of its goals and resources based on sharing ideas freely. As stated earlier, Google+ is a product of Google search engine. The main resource of Google+ is therefore, the Google search engine. Here, one can still get the information that he or she needed from Google. Most of the social sites, only focuses on interaction and socialization of people and does not provide an opportunity or one to discuss topics and ideas that are on the rise such as environmental and the current affairs (Daniel, 2012).

Google+ has strategies and plans that shape the general outlook of the company and help in marketing the name in order for the company to grow. Basing on the general goals of the company, embracing technology in its marketing process has been the best marketing strategy of the company. Since the company is a product of Google, it plays a great role in marketing the Google+ (Aron, 2012). The steps followed in registering as a user has always been easy and simple, unlike other social sites where registering as a user is complex and hard.

In developing a social site company, it is important to consider most of the strategies used by Google+ as a basis in setting up the general structure and plan of the company.  First is to consider technology. Google+ has embraced the technology mostly in marketing of the company’s name and all services. It is also important to consider the needs of customers or the users. Most of the services from the social sites should satisfy the customers or the user needs (Andrea, 2012).  It should provide to the users what they require. Google+ is not complex in registering and in its general operations. This provides the best strategy to consider when starting up one social site. It ought to be straightforward to be able to provide the need of users’ to their doorstep. The company could also draw the working of Google+ of discussing ideologies rather than just socializing as others do.

Conclusion

Starting up a social site might be simple and not complex as most people have in their minds. Identifying an existing social site that has generally set its foot down and succeeded in the recent past is a good idea before starting one. Google+ is one social site that has delivered the needs of users to them. It stands for itself in the sense that it does not copy the styles of other social sites. Instead of, only focusing on socializing and interactions of the users, the site has gone a step further to provide an opportunity for discussing constructive factors that affect the people directly.
