Mathieu: This article addresses the importance of understanding compassion fatigue and specific occupational hazards. Nurses also experience burnout and face challenges related to this condition as it impacts their level of work productivity and focus on work-related activities.

Wilkinson: This article addresses the importance of coping for nurses as they experience burnout and stress in the workplace environment. The article provides examples regarding the needs of nurses as they endure stressful experiences at work and how to best manage these conditions to improve rather than detract from productivity.
