The ocean is one of the most important water resources on earth. Its integrity is something that identifies well as to how other resources are supported with their life-needs. Water is the earth’s bloodline, a support that is strongly able to establish a good sense of what life is and what it is supposed to be. In short, the integrity of life on earth depends on the integrity of the water sources made available for human us as well as that of other living creatures. At present, such integrity could be considered frail (Humes, 2012). Noticeably, the works of human individuals have become more affective on what has become of the current status of oceans around the globe.
As seen from basic points of observation, it could be realized that the status of oceans have become less conducive when it comes to supporting the life that it needs to suffice for sustenance. This situation has caused the commotion of the different ecologies in the world that exist to support each other. The emergent creation of factories and the careless handling of waste management have made it harder for oceans to keep its integrity intact. The fact that the ocean is the final destination of waste that has been released in other water forms makes it harder to clean the ocean [especially because of the larger area scope] (Parker, 2014). Oceans are noted as one of the primary sources of consumable water that is treated and is distributed to households and other establishments for human consumption. When the integrity of ocean-water is reduced, then it is sure that the integrity of the water consumed by humans is also lessened in value, therefore affecting the health of the human society.
Another matter to consider is that of the fact that water resources [coming from the ocean] are also used to water plants and other food resources being grown from fields. Again, when the water used to support the growth of these plants and other food resources are contaminated, then it would be sure that the final products yielded from such farming activities would of course be compromised as well. The ones to be affected by this matter are the ones who are to accept the final products, humans. The cycle continues and the situation worsens. Humans are the ones who are noted to be making a negative mark on the integrity of ocean water; they are also the ones who are to harvest the result of their own works. True to its sense, whatever it is that humans do, they will always be the ones at the receiving end, making it harder for them to resolve the situation especially when it comes to compromising the procedures of advancement that they want to embrace, especially for the sake of improving their lifestyle.
True to its sense, it is about time for humans to take charge of their own actions. Their desire to support the need to reestablish the condition of development that they have already embraced in relation to modern living has already created a new sense of morality among humans and a differential culture of improvement especially in recognizing what is meant by developmental living (Magary, 2012). What makes a good condition of development though is that of the emergence of realization among humans that with the consideration over progress comes the higher need to consider their responsibility of keeping the integrity of the natural resources intact especially in making sure that the earth itself receive a beneficial value from such points of development.
The human society is expected to embrace the culture of development from the past years towards the creation of a new way of living. However, in the process of such development, it is encouraged that humans take charge of the personal and social responsibilities they have to take into account especially in making sure that the water resources such as the ocean are protected well. Now that a point of damage has already been incurred, it is also important to create a plan that would make it easier for the human society to become more aware of the situation thus making it easier for them to decide to embrace responsible and sustainable development accordingly.
