Introduction
As seen in the real life situation, leadership is regarded as a motivation knack of a certain group of people who adhere and have a great achievement towards a desired common goal. As a presidential leader, one needs to inspire different cultures and group of people within a certain community or nation, by initiating leadership ideas through a proper channel of effective communication. However, leadership cuts across various industries that found themselves into business, but here we are going to learn and review the details supposes by Nick Ragone, one of the outstanding characters who gave us fifteen decision that changed the nation when one is in need of presidential leadership.
Meanwhile, anyone can be a leader though it depends on how you interact with your people, possessing a winning combination of personal traits and the ability to deliver a strong message.
Concepts of Leadership
Some say that leaders are made and some says that leaders are born. However, depending on your argument perception, goods leaders are termed as one made not born, characterized by the desire and strength of will through a process of education acquisition, training and hand on hand experience. Through the integration of leadership, considering presidential aspiration, we will consider the common points that Ragone illustrated as the main key of enlightenment that changed the entire nation (Newstrom & Davis 1993).
Presidential Leadership Values
In states of America, we have various institutions that initiates and applaud the growth and development of presidential leadership through the provision of scholarships that supports the four years of rigorous leadership that trains fosters with both rational and personal leadership. Through the maneuver of leadership we had various transitions that brought about issues on leadership among the United States, that nick had decided to illustrate. The fifteen Decisions that changed the Nation as illustrated by Nick Ragone , one of the outstanding author were as follows;
The Fifteen Decisions that Changed the Nation
The whiskey Rebellion put down by Washington is illustrated well by Nick, who perceives the story of George Bush, who at his times in the power under the government of America, lead the militia to diversify whiskey Rebellion. Whiskey Rebellion is a tax statement protest that was brought by George Bush as insurrection when he was inaugurated as the presided of United States of America in the year 1789. The whiskey rebellion process as Nick illustrated, it was characterized by the intimidations, which tends to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. However, Nick went a head to illustrate his book basing on the state of Whiskey rebellion that the government of George Bush had to take the initiative by demonstrating that the new government had good intention and willingness of suppressing violence resistance to its laws.
As termed as the key role to the people of America, it was difficult for the whiskey laws to take its cause and as a result there was the formation of various parties in States, which changes the due cause and overthrown by Thomas Jefferson’s Republican party. The reaction on this state of whiskey rebellion had its origin of presidential leadership, since it just reflected the leadership under the provision of reinforcement that intimidated their protesters and there was no any incidence of bloodshed. The true leadership has high dignity and tries to bring togetherness especially when there is high constitutional threat prior to the civil war as was seen in the time of George Bush and illustrated by Nick Regone.
The purchase of Lousina territory was one of the great achievements that were made by Thomas Jefferson during his presidential aspiration. Thomas was well known as a man who was against federalist writing one of the outstanding declarations on the independence. He was a presidential leader which an outstanding castle, which in his aspiration he brought about the idea of purchasing a new territory known as Lousina. This territory was free to everyone and nobody had to deny anyone access to the territory. Through this development of Lousina territory, the land of America doubled leading to definition of both southern and western boundaries. This was a great achievement in the life of Jefferson as a presidential aspirant in his time of leadership.
Nick went forward by illustrating the Tariff act of 1832, which was brought by the nullification crisis through the man called Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of United States of American, who was well known as the key fighter and defender of common man and advocate of democratization as well as rationale. This was a bigger crisis during his time as a president of America and through his consistence and understanding his nation, he posses some qualities of leadership by rousing nationalism through the power of words and deeds and he had good gesture of controlling his natural spontaneity, which helps him to serve the nation well. This leadership quality was later adapted by Lincoln, which helps him to adapt well in his leadership in a decade of three years.
However, it was a challenging leadership in the times of Abraham Lincoln since he had a very strong motto in his presidential leadership of emancipating nation slavery people, when he came into leadership early 1849. It was a strong desired where by Lincoln had to plan how the emancipated people were going to be compensated through the provision of legislation act of emancipation proclamation, which outfitted the slavery indemnified to be set free and remain rebellion under slavery culture. This are one of the decisive elements that portrayed the kind of leadership Abraham Lincoln had in his presidential aspiration and illustrated by author Nick Ragone.
Moreover, the building of Panama Canal had its call in the kind of presidential leadership Teddy Roosevelt provided. Roosevelt was elected as the president of United States of America after he served the nation as the vice president after the president then McKinley was assassinated through bullet. Roosevelt had great idea on the development of canal after he realized that his people from far end of Kettle Hill suffered a lot during the process of sea power and through the vision of canal becoming the most attractive center of vital importance, teddy agreed to develop the canal. This was great achievement in the time Teddy’s presidential leadership which characterizes the kind of leadership that had outstanding background.
The league of Nation was found during the intergovernmental organization, under the leadership of Woodrow Wilson resulting from the conference meeting which was held in Paris having an intention of providing peace within the nation of United States of America to end the First World War. The presidential aspirant then called Woodrow had to take the initiative of providing negotiation and arbitration that could see the nation providing peace among its people. The league nations however, was in a position of ultimately preventing aggression effects that could otherwise brought again an ideas of war within the nation. Though it had its failure whereby it was later taken by United Nation but in deed it played a big role in straightening the presidential leadership of Woodrow Wilson.
Lend-lease program was formed by Franklin Roosevelt as a public law under the states of America, with an intention of providing peace by other unions like Soviet Union, France among other to change the perception under the state of Second World War. Franklin was indemnified by the power of the state, to give and rent various unions equipments, sell and transfer them without imposing any heavy taxes. This was one of the achievements made Roosevelt, and then being the president of USA, who showed the state of leadership he had over the power since he had an intention of bringing harmony to all nations worldwide. Through his superior govern ship; it is well known that the state could lend this lease without imposing any charge for aid through its legislation, one of the greatest achievements Franklin under taken giving aid to Britain and china in the year 1941. Nick Ragone is overwhelm by this state of leadership, stating it as one of the greatest leadership Franklin possesses having shown the quality of presidential leadership one should posses (Ragone, 62-79).
Truman was so furious with the way the Second World War was in its cause, and decided to drop the atomic bomb near Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This idea that was brought by President Truman was well supported by various Americans people who its intention was to stop the Second World War that was in cause. Many Japanese then attacked the Americans and through this decision by President Truman, it was well accepted as one of the wise decision he made since the idea was to finish the threat war dealers who was then Japanese and this could not affect the other part of the world that were innocent concerning the state of world war II. This made President Truman to possess outstanding remarkable presidential leadership during his term as the president of America
However, other decision that is seen remarkable in this book written by Nick Ragone, we see the Firing of MacArthur by Truman that helped a lot the government of Truman to shape its security. The race to the moon by Kennedy and Eisenhower, the civil Rights by Lyndon Johnson, the china visitation by Richard Nixon who was to pardons Nixon and the evil empire situation lead by Reagan as illustrated in this book , all possesses the good leadership one should posses when he or she want to exercise quality leadership.
President Obama made remarkable approach when he decided to sign his sweeping overhaul of USA healthcare into a law. From his perception, he saw this issue of healthcare reform as one of the beneficial aspects that could see the peoples of America receiving health coverage benefits which range between 83 to 95 percent, one of the wise decisions he has made in his leadership, showing the great values leadership should posses. It is evitable from his style of leadership and one speculating qualities he has in his line of leadership that Nick Ragone saw as one the decision that defines the great leadership he has.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Nick Ragone illustrated all this presidential idol leaders, who had strong desires and achievements that made them to stand firm and portrayed outstanding leadership in their presidential life. He narrated great history of various presidents in United States of America, who set a leadership set peace that portrays the ability one need to think to deliver outstanding level of leadership in life. The author believes that the creation of ideas leads to decisive pattern of interaction and this probably influence and makes thinking and behaviors of young upcoming leaders to create new ideas termed as leadership innovations.
