Developing an Effective Ethics Program, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 249

Essay

The most important thing that I learned from this chapter is how to develop, to implement and to monitor an effective workplace ethics program.  The first mistake is not understanding and appreciating the goals of such a program.  The second mistake is really important—especially from a behaviouristic point of view—and that is “not setting realistic and measurable program objectives.  The third problem is maintaining an ethical culture if “CEOs and other top officers do not support an ethical culture.` For an ethical program to work well, employees should be trained in the ethical codes of behaviour and then monitored by ethics officers.  How to develop, to implement, and to monitor an effective workplace ethics program would be especially important to me if I should be an executive of a company and, as a result, be involved in these activities. I would try to avoid some common mistakes make sure that some he ethics program would contain some aspects that are measurable. Even as a non-executive, I could—and would—help colleagues to understand the importance of such programs and encourage their adherence to them.  I also consider it important to implement such a program for my family.  I do not have an internship. I am in accounting and preparing for a Master degree.

I am perfectly clear about the main topic of this chapter, which is how to develop, to implement and to monitor an effective workplace ethics program and would welcome the opportunity to share its content with the check-in section.
