One’s sexual orientation is often a source of personal tension especially when it comes to one being set aside as not normal compared to those following the regular social trends specifically related to the said issue. Females oriented as women and males oriented as men is what is normal; when one’s orientation takes a different part, then it is considered “not acceptable”. However, the society at present claims that such matter has already been a thing of the past. But is this real? In the interview that follows, a transgender shall be given attention to; asked about his experiences and how much he thinks that his sexual orientation us accepted by the society at present.

During the beginning of the interview, it was obvious how proud he was about his gender choice. The interviewee was dressed in a woman’s clothes and was moving as so. If he did not speak, no one would actually find out that he is a transgender especially that he does not have the height of a man. When he first arrived at the venue, everyone was looking his way, as if wondering if he’s a guy or a girl; nonetheless, he did not care so much about this.

As we began the talk, he mentioned that he was more than excited to undergo the interview process as he really had so much to tell. This, perhaps, made the whole interview easy to complete. The first questions were rather personal; including the way he felt when he first opened to the family that he was gay. He mentioned how hard it was. Although he thought at first that it would be accepted easily by his parents [because it was how he observed them when they watch programs with gay entertainers}. Little did he know that the reactions would as wild as they were up to the point of his father throwing his things outside the window of his room.

The next set of questions was related to how he thought he was treated by the society in accordance with his gender orientation. He mentioned that somehow, he enjoyed the attention, especially when people looked puzzled as to whether or not he is a boy. He mentions that this was however only a part of the whole story. Noticeably, there were obvious disadvantages to the matter. He said that his orientation gets him into trouble most of the time especially when it comes to determining his decisions in relation to the public places where gender segregation is necessary.

He mentions too that somehow, his choices were specifically guided by the desire to please himself. Before such a decision has been made, it could be realized that somehow, his decisions were most likely dependent on what others want for him or how much he wanted to please people living around him. Becoming a transgender and embracing his actual being is what made him feel free. When asked whether or not he has some remorse on what he did, he said there was nothing he wanted to change and that if he had to go through the same situation, he would do the same thing over and over again.

What makes his stand rather affective is that he knew what he was doing and that he knew the consequences of his act and has already accepted that the said things were going to happen. The presentation of such value in the interview imposed a sense of control and direction as to how the vision of discrimination could be determined due to the uncommon grounds of belief that people have between each other. The judgmental ways by which people tend to look at others based on their established personal standards of acceptability. This consideration entails to provide a strong guideline on how people ought to be more concerned about the way they treat others that they might not be measured with the same rate of observation as well.
