6. What is the key idea of Curwin and Mendler’s approach?

Curwin and Mendler’s key approach is their discipline with dignity method with respect to school discipline. They believe that students with ongoing behaviour problems believe that they are losers and have, therefore, ceased attempting to obtain acceptance through good behaviour.

7. How could you use it to encourage positive behaviour?
Name the A,B,C which should be considered in the analysis of behaviour.

Curwin and Mendler’s approach could be used to encourage positive behaviour by not singling out students who mishave. Teachers would lay down the expectations of behaviour and the consequences when a rule is broken. This must be done in a firm and consistent manner. Good behaviour should also be recognized. Some educators have all the stakeholders (students, parents, school officials, and themselves) sign such contracts and keep a copy. The A, B, C that should be considered in the analysis of behaviour are Antecedent, Behaviour, and Consequence. It is important that in each case the A, B, C should be clearly and comprehensively stated. Whenever possible, the target behaviour should be operationally defined.

9. Name the two approaches to behavioural analysis which we have discussed in class.
(you can ignore this question but if u know any behaior analysis, type it in and i’l try to change it to what we did in class)

One rather complex approach to behavioural analysis is verbal behaviour. Another approach is the behavioural analysis, which focuses strictly on observable behaviour.

16.
What is the key problem faced by children whose difficulties lie on the Autistic Spectrum?

The key problem faced by children whose problems lie on the Autistic Spectrum is social inclusion whether in the classroom, the neighbourhood, or the wider society. Importantly, it is not enough for people to include autistic children where they think they should be, but to give these children the choice, which is very important to them. They want to be able to choose to join in certain activities, live in certain residences, and study certain subjects for which they have an interest and the possibility to succeed.
