Equal Role Parenting, Questionnaire Example

Pages: 3

Words: 729

Questionnaire

What is your topic?

The topic is all about parenting as role of both parents. It discusses the benefits of equal parenting as well as the potential detriment.

What are the possibly different main claims/positions related to this topic?

The different claims about parenting revolve around the old school of thought where families still expect the mother to take the parenting role. The opposing claim is that the parenting role has become a burden where mothers forced into full time work just to be able to provide enough income to sustain their families living, with the high cost of living.

What is your position regarding the topic?

I am for the argument that both parents take the parenting role, for fairness and for the many benefits to the child for receiving care from both parents.

What evidence have you offered to support your claim/position? Have you included your survey results?

It is evident that with the down turned economy and high cost of living, a one income household is simply not enough. Mothers forced into full time work just to be able to provide enough income to sustain their family’s mere living. This leaves them with little or no time to do the parenting role thus; they need assistant from the fathers. Children without fathers’ parenting in their lives have difficulties adjusting to social situations and may have distorted perceptions about male roles in their lives.

Put your claim/position and ?evidence through the ?Scientific Method and ?Proving a theory steps.

Unfortunately, these most of these claims not evident scientifically. However, they this made acceptable by a small study survey between groups of children who brought up by mothers alone, and those who brought up by both parents. The results then analyzed.

Who is your intended audience?

The audiences are those fathers and families who still have the old school thought that only the mother ought to take the parenting role.

What is your purpose? What do you want the audience to do, to feel, or to think?

I am just a mediator, trying to speak out for the mother, overburdened with the role of working and parenting at the same time. My question to the audience is, should a mother be expected to take care of all parenting duties, even though she is required to work a forty-hour week?

What words or phrases have you included to cause your audience to do, feel, or think the way that you want them?

It takes both a man and a woman to conceive a child.

Both parents should take an active role and ensure that the child’s needs met.

A number of detriments reported because of an absent parent, such as higher crime rates, difficult relationships, and social deviance.

It is important for children to have parents that share responsibilities equally.

How can your position actually better meet the needs of your audience than other
possible positions?

My position as a mediator does not force anyone to do what he does not want. It only persuades the audience to have a heart and feel for the mother, then act accordingly.

What more might your audience need to know before they believe that they need to do, to feel, or to think that what you are suggesting should in fact cause them to be doing, feeling, or thinking something?

My audiences need to know that, for their success, somebody was there for them, thus they ought to make their children succeed too. If they are failures, then somebody contributed to it, they ought not to contribute to the failure of their children.

What position that is different from yours might cause your audience not to accept your position. (Note: There may be more than one.) Now that you have identified it, what do you need to add to your own argument to convince your audience that this alternate position rejected in favor of your own position?

Some audiences, who probably have a failure in life due to the absence of their fathers, for example, may opt for the reciprocation game. They however need to feel for their children and have them enjoy the privileges they missed at their time.

Can you think of anything else that your audience might need in order to persuade by your argument?

My audience need being subjected to a debate about the issue of parenting, or rather, be educated of the importance of both parents parenting in a seminar.
