Ethical Considerations That Define E-Commerce, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 353

Essay

Competition is an unavoidable situation whether or not a business is operating online. Brick and mortar businesses specifically handle the challenge through heightening the market influence that their organization has. In the virtual process of engaging in business competition, it could be analyzed how important it is to get the attention of the market through press release. Press Release articles are noted to be the basis of online popularity especially among competing organizations. Sadly, since there are not specific rules that stipulate the direct regulations that businesses should consider when releasing news about their products, their company or that of the others, there are those who take advantage of the lack of control that the internet has in relation to the spreading of such information in the market.

Take note that somehow, it could be realized that when sharing information through the web, the chances of it becoming viral is possible; especially if the information contains controversial or intriguing issue. At times, to make the business campaigns more affective on the thinking and perception of the audience towards a particular company, exaggeration of matters becomes a common practice. Such practice could instantiate both negative or positive impact on the thinking of the public depending on how it has been carried. Ethically, such matter is wrong. However, because of the desire to be popular, to be talked about or to ruin a particular organization with a larger impact on their reputation and operations, competing virtually has become quite disdain that ethical considerations are already being overlooked by several business administrators. Considerably, even though there are rules that protect the reputation of virtual organizations, once particular campaign operations have already been released to the public to arouse interest or controversy, the spreading of such information is already hard to stop. Hence, for businesses aiming to operate online, it always pays to be cautious on the said types of competitive strategies.
