Euphoria is a teenage drama series showing the identity experiences of high school students and the struggles they go through with drugs, romance, family, and traumas of life. The students’ stars go through ‘adult-like’ experiences and struggle to cope with those experiences. Some of the stars in the series are affected by drug abuse and sexual harassment, where some female characters are violated through non-consented touching and groping. The series is emotional and was created to communicate the effects of substance abuse and addiction. It paints a picture of what teenage life is like in the present life.
The series displayed very provocative content. By showing this content to the audiences, it showed how some teens go through a lot of problems but do not speak them out. As displayed in the movie, when sexually harassed, some people think no one will believe them or be judged harshly by society; hence tend to remain quiet about such incidences. Kids worldwide go through such problems, for example, being harassed by their parents or guardians, relatives, or people they regard as friends in school. The movie also features high school students using drugs to have fun or even numbing the pain from traumatic experiences. This leads to addiction to the drugs that affect their progress in life. The point of showing this was to show how children may get lost when not guided properly on dealing with life’s problems. Students who have irresponsible sexual ordeals at parties in the movie show how adolescents get lost and give in to their urges; at such an age, it is very easy for kids to have irresponsible behaviors to have fun.
The series target is a mature audience who can grasp what happens. However, some of the audiences feel like the series is hard to watch due to its brutal honesty while still being very illuminating and challenging. Mature audiences can grasp the temptation to use drugs at the age the students are. The age is filled with feelings of the need to belong to a certain group of cool people. They can also understand the feeling of temptation to experiment on drugs and experiences, although it’s not right. At the age at which the characters are in, there is a battle of hormones and would make the adolescents want to experiment. We find rue coming back home from rehab and still having no desire to stay clean. The teenage desire to experiment on love forces Jules to take nudes to please a guy she met online, not thinking of the bad effects this act would cause. Teenagers are reckless and tend to involve themselves in situations that have detrimental effects on their lives. Without proper guidance, they may suffer a lot trying to live such lives.
Teenagers and adults who are some of the major audiences for the series tend to gain a lot from the series. Due to the excessive drug use, self-harm, and sexual content in the show, many people deem it unfit for viewing. It is, however, very important to see what teenagers today regard as cool and right. This is because seeing the characters’ lives and how some of the bad choices they make affect them is vital in helping change the lives of those who are doing those things. It is also useful to parents of teenagers to see some of the acts the teenagers are involved in to set up proper methods to help them deal with their problems. Sexual bullying is a great problem facing so many around the world. It may be done virtually or even physically. Teachers and parents can therefore counter some of these problems before it’s too late for a student. The series, therefore, sheds some light on such social problems in the world. The public, therefore, stands to gain a lot from the series showing such scenes as it creates awareness of such behavior. People who have caused some of these problems, like drug dealers who sell drugs to kids and sexual predators who are a burden to society, are affected by such a series as it exposes their vile acts and therefore stands to gain nothing. The two should be eliminated in society as they cause harm to future generations.
Based on television miniseries from Israel, Sam Levinson is the creator of the HBO series. The series is aimed at showing the social problems affecting a group of high school students. The series has a narrator, Zendaya, and a cast member. She plays her role very well as a girl who suffers from addiction and finds it hard to figure out her place in the world. The series receives many positive and negative views from the public due to some of the schemes shown. The series has won Zendaya, one of the main characters in the series the Emmy and satellite award in the series for being the best actress. They have also had nominations for best international programs. The cinematography was done by Marcel Rev, the director of photography. The focus of the series photography was to do something that had never been done. In the first season, the visuals were contemporary, while in the second season, they brought out intimacy and were made memorable to the viewers. The series, therefore, has good reviews on its content due to the work of the whole team, from producers to the cast and the audiences who continue to elevate it.
The series faced so many challenges with its creation. Some people gave the series a bad review and criticized its scenes of drugs and sex that feature teenagers. It was also ridiculed because of sexual assault and racism as the basis for the black male cast in season one. Some of the critics also did not like the way drug addiction was shown as a glamorous thing in the series since it is a very difficult thing. The series was clearly subject to criticism after the first season from many people. It portrayed the lifestyle of the teenage casts as fun, yet they were involved in socially immoral things like drug use and sexual immorality. The series is, therefore, a bad influence on some teens who might view it differently and regard those scenes as cool hence attempting to do them. The bad press may have therefore affected its production of the next season.
The series is entertaining to its audience as it shows some reasonable content about the life of some teenagers. The audience may have found it exciting to watch it at the same time; some of its audience may have hated what they saw. The cast was able to portray what was expected of the movie and hence staring up all the different emotions. It is educative by some of the audience as it shows some negative impacts of social immorality. It also shed light on the different romantic desires of teenagers and how that may affect their lives.
In conclusion, euphoria is a must-watch for people interested in teenage drama. It is of both entertainment and educative use to the audience. It may, however, negatively impact some of the audiences who may disagree with some of its content. The series is adult-rated and hence should not be viewed by underage audiences. The series has high ratings and sparks many different types of emotions for its viewers.
