Essay

Hi. I just want to share with you a reading experience I have had when I read the book by Robin Winks entitled Europe and the Making of Modernity from 1815-1914. This reading has taught me a lot about the history of Europe and the different types of situations that have been encountered for the country to embrace modernity as it does now. The reading takes the audience to a particular setup that brings a visual distinction on how history itself provides a definite source of indicative insistence on how issues of historical value made a transformative change on how Europe came into a definite dictation on how modernity is to be embraced by the nation and its people.

Some of the topics that were explored in this reading include gender issues, nationalism, imperialism and the rise of the new working class and the middle class population in the country. The response of the European region to the challenge of the French and Industrial revolution that has affected the emergence of the definition of modernity as it enters the aristocratic system of living in the European region.  The book further explains the conflict between the issues of sovereignty and security among members of the society.

With the chronological arrangement of events and the definite condition of explanation on how matters turned out to be from one particular event towards another, this reading could be an important addition to a college text book that would explain history fully as well as the different elements that come along with it. I hope you enjoy this simplified book as much as I did.
