A Descriptive Definition of the Process

The topic that has been chosen for exploration in line with this research is that of the connection between modern businesses and the application of IT or Information Technology as part of their operational activities. The said choice of topic was given particular attention to due to the existence of several business forums that tackled the said matter. Apparently business organizers today are concerned on how they would be able to handle the challenge of modern business operations that are most often than not related to the distinctive contribution of IT developments into the system.

To explore the feasibility of the topic for research, the archive of topics posted in the website of Working Knowledge (http://hbswk.hbs.edu/item/7032.html) has been explored. Relatively, the process defining the topic became easier as the database of the said website provides several resources from prominent and reliable authors who present data regarding the matter based on effective research, study as well as opinionated presentation of their understanding of the matter. Maggie Starvish’s article on Why Business IT Innovation is so Difficult released on October 15, 2012 is one of the most recent written articles on the topic that is assumed to help a lot in defining the problem and presenting the issues that are related to the situation that the problem creates in the field of modern business operations.

In this case, it has been observed that searching through online databases make research procedures much easier to contend with. It makes the process of finding the right literary source to support a particular hypothesis or to simply define a certain topic much effective to handle which is expected to result to a more grounded research presentation that would be helpful in developing solutions to particular problems that have been explored in line with the study being pursued.
