A. Importance Of Ecosystem
Fresh water ecosystem plays an important role all non living and living things that lives in an ecosystem (Lek, S.2005). Fresh water ecosystem provides a number of economically valuable products and services to community and to the country at large. The services provided by freshwater ecosystems are may include; controlling floods, acts as mode of transport for boats and vessels, recreation, it purifies industrial waste and human waste, also it’s a plants and animals habitat, and production of fish which is food and other foods to other animals and human being and marketable goods like sea shells (Ouboter, P.1993).
B. Impacts Of Ecosystem
Moreover fresh ecosystem plays a vital role to human being that it suppliers drinking to them, providing water for irrigation and water to run industrial process. Regardless the important role the fresh water ecosystem have played on other hand it has played a negative role in spreading the diseases to being and endangering the species living in the water through the human and industrial wastes that have been disposed to the water streams, rivers or lakes or leading to climate change (Lek, 2005). In addition, it is evidential that it has led to conflicts between the countries bordering the ecosystem or the communities representing different interests on the ecosystem.
II. Research For Fresh Water Ecosystem
Fresh water ecosystem has provided a variety of economic valuable products or goods and services to community and to the country at large. The drinking water, water for irrigation and water for industrial process has been drawn from the lakes, rivers and streams as well as oceans and seas (Ouboter, 1993). The services provided by freshwater ecosystems are may include; controlling floods, acts as mode of transport for boats and vessels, recreation, it purifies industrial waste and human waste, also it’s a plants and animals habitat, and production of fish which is food and other foods to other animals and human being and marketable goods like sea shells.
III. Research Against Fresh Water Ecosystem
Fresh water ecosystem are vulnerably degrading the environment through dams construction wastes deposits to the rivers, lakes and streams which not only have led to spreading of the diseases to being but also endangering the species living in the water which is threatening the universe (Ouboter, P.1993). In addition, it is evidential that it has led to conflicts between the countries bordering the ecosystem or the communities representing different interests on the ecosystem.
IV. Conclusion
Despite the negative impacts of the fresh water ecosystem, it has emerged that the benefits of the fresh water ecosystem outfits the negative impacts. This is because day to day life of the human being water is the most important commodity for her or his survival as well as non living things and the living this in the underwater of which it provides habitat for aquatic organisms.
However affirmative action’s and measures should be taken to ensure that the ecosystem is preserved and maintained from any kind of pollution in order for the beings and aquatic organisms to enjoy fresh water ecosystem (Lek, 2005). Through this more lives will be saved water services and commodities be gathered hence increasing tourists sites hence the country earning income through tourism and even foreign exchange.
