Barboza T. “Scientists warn of global warming’s abrupt changes”. Los Angeles Times. 18 March 2014. Web. 23 March 2014. http://www.latimes.com/science/la-me-0319-climate-change-20140319,0,234455.story#axzz2wqYKtFAr

This article discusses the connection that exists between greenhouse gasses and climate change and calls for governmental action to slow these changes. While the article doesn’t announce any new information about this theory, it discusses the need to convince people of the negative impacts that may occur if we simply ignore this issue. Therefore, the American Association for the Advancement of Science is calling for a resolution. 97% of scientists agree that climate change is a global issue created by humans and that only human action could slow this trend. They believe that awareness of this issue is necessary because it will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions that trap heat in our environment.

Public opinion impacts the ability of the United States to adopt environmentally friendly policies. Even though 97% of scientists agree that global warming is a fact, they are unable to convince a majority of the American population that this is the case. Meanwhile, individuals living an Israel have a different opinion regarding the connection between human action and global warming. As a consequence, they are taking steps to ensure that their technology is clean and Earth friendly.

It is clear that Israel is ahead of the United States when it comes to environmental friendliness and that a majority of Israelis believe that global warming is a real phenomenon while many Americans would disagree. While it is unclear whether this Earth conscious behavior will have a clear advantage, it is certain that Israeli culture values the environment and lives in greater fear of climate change than Americans.
