The Government’s Role to Develop Policies That Affect Healthcare

The healthcare in USA has many legal entities. Health insurance is provided by public sector as well as government; almost seventy percent of all healthcare provisions come from various programs like Medicare, Tricare and Medicaid. Yet, on the whole, the healthcare facilities are sustained by means of private sector, where employers need to offer insurance packages to every employee. As for the government’s role to develop policies that impact healthcare, it is worth saying that the authorities should definitely be involved in controlling and improving the field of healthcare. Evidently, the government has to positively influence such aspects as for instance, insurance and medical industry, since disregarding these very areas is likely to lead to serious deterioration of healthcare system; apparently, the government should develop strategic health planning, which is the matter of great importance for the society (Siclair et al., 2013).

Considering the government’s role to positively affect healthcare, one cannot but encounter the fact special attention should be drawn to attitude towards females. Beyond any doubts, in 21^st century a number of government’s policies were directed to the improvement of social status of women, offering, for example, them away from home jobs. Regardless of this fact, the appropriate attention to women healthcare is still only partially provided. Inevitably, there should not be any kind of health disparities within the developed society (Krahn et al., 2014). By all means, women’s reproductive rights and individual independence tend to be the main indicators of women’s health and prove their important roles in society. In view of many statesmen, it is possible to emphasize quite many women’s healthcare concerns; consequently, the civil society and government have to take into consideration “…present circumstances andtrends that are then used to establish baseline and project future intended outcomes.” (Sinclair et al., 2013, p. 178)

It is not difficult to notice the limited access to effective contraception, timely diagnosis and necessary treatment of sexually transmitted infections. Moreover, a lot of public figures advance an argument that women’s health is not given much attention in terms of safe abortion, necessary effective maternity care and treatment of infertility. To conclude, it is worth mentioning that government’s role in terms of affecting healthcare is crucial, since the officials are endowed with the power to control the field of healthcare. All in all, governmental policies are obviously focused on not facilitating yet worsening the dimensions of women’s healthcare. The government should be aimed at rethinking the attitude of physicians and other doctors towards women’s health care. This is definitely the fault of the government, which is not targeted on providing necessary support for people in general and the women in particular.
