Book Review

The Great Gatsby is a novel about a young man who has longed to be rich and live a luxurious life. The concept of determination on the part of Gatsby became the focal point of the story. Nevertheless, his failures and misadventures particularly provide a determinable course of distinction on how Gatsby tried to survive the life he wanted while not being able to make a definite insistence on how he is likely to survive the mistakes he has incurred accordingly. In the presentation that follows, four particular soundtracks are to be suggested as part of the distinction on how the story of the Great Gatsby could be presented to the public.

Soundtrack 1: Another Day in Paradise

Scenario: Point of life-comparison (Time when Gatsby begins to see the difference between his life and the life that he wanted

Analysis: This song talks about how humans have become less aware of the things that were going on around them just because they wanted something out of where they were coming from. The negligence of individuals as described in the song seem to fit well on how Gatsby has neglected some of the matters that should have made a difference on how he viewed life as an individual. Practically, this song determines the kind of emotion and distinct condition of thinking that Gatsby has over matters that should have made a difference in his life.

Soundtrack 2: I wanna be a Billionaire by Bruno Mars

Scenario: Introductory Scenario that shows Gatsby’s desire and determination to become rich

Analysis: This song provides a distinct sense of understanding especially on the ways by which Gatsby himself hopes to embrace a new kind of living; one that gives him the liberty to plunge into the luxuries of life and practically ‘live the life” that he has always imagined he would have.

Soundtrack 3: Man in the Mirror

Scenario:  Gatsby Sees the type of differences he wants to make out of himself but seems to forget his real life

Analysis: The song suggests that Gatsby needs to become more endowed on reality before he becomes the kind of person he desires to be. This song basically insists on how a person like Gatsby defends his dreams while basically living himself behind. The song itself calls for a determined insistence on how a person’s change should come from within; and that it should be genuinely be motivated by what is good and what is useful for the general population.

Soundtrack 4: Road to the Riches

Scenario: The part where the turning point of wealth and poverty comes into the picture

Analysis: Different obstacles have come along the way as Gatsby tried to reach for his dreams. His determination to reach his goals has become extensive and yet the quality of his life has been changing accordingly; and at some point, such changes may not have been particularly positive in terms thus making a mark on how he has become rather unknowingly indecisive of how he should face life’s adversities that may lead him away from attaining his dreams.
