Using the HBM, brainstorm to identify possible psychosocial/demographic factors and perceptions of severity, susceptibility, benefits and barriers that might explain why some people do not practice regular and good hand washing practices, and possible strategies related to Each Construct possible that might change these perceptions and impact this behavior.

The primary possible reason why proper hand washing practice is not applied by many individuals today is the fact that not everyone recognizes the importance of such act. Perhaps because of not knowing the full benefit of such health practice, a lot of individuals see hand washing as a mere time-consuming ritual that is not as important as it may seem to others.

Hence, to resolve the problem, establishing knowledge is an important base process to be embraced. How does this happen? The lesser knowledge people have towards how dirty the hands could get [especially as it is the main part of the body used to accomplish different tasks], makes it harder for them to believe that hand washing is important; all the more practice it as part of their daily routine. Noticeably, it could be understood that when it comes to determining how the society accepts a routine fully, they ought to be guided and given cue through establishing a strong foundation of knowledge for them to base their actions on.
