 What are the three leading causes of death and illness in Haiti. According to current data that has been collected, the top three causes of death in Haiti include Influenza/pneumonia; HIV/AIDS; and Stroke. Considerably, the emergence of pneumonia is often caused by the weak sanitation systems existing in the area that is used by families. Children and old-aged individuals usually catch pneumonia and influenza specifically because of having weaker resistance. On the other end, HIV/AIDS specifically takes the second place due to the fact that one of the most common sources of work in the country is prostitution even among children aged 12 years old. Stroke on the other hand is often caused by the heat and the meager conditions of living on the larger regions of the country. Considerably, these situations specifically affect the capacity of each individual for survival. 

What type of health care system does Haiti have? How is it funded? The largest source of health support the nation gets from is the United Nations. Other organizations specifically provide relief products to the nation and the people. With the country’s population living under the effects of poverty, it could be realized how hard it is for the common people to get even the most basic type of health support that they need for survival.

What has Haiti identified as health priorities? Food is the primary priority in the country. This is followed by clean water source and proper shelter. Medication and health services are considered to be at a second rate priority as the most basic points of survival are already hard to accomplish. Relatively, with this particular situation in consideration, it could be realized how the attention on medication and healthcare development be neglected to make way for the capacity of the people to be supported accordingly when it comes to government-developed programs.
