Since variations of the name have included Hassan, O’Hassan, Hassane, Hason and many more variations. The name is still used in the County of Londonderry to this very day. Many Irish people relocated to America in the 18^th Century escaping both a famine and persecution of the English. Examples are Patrick Hassan who arrived in Philadelphia in 1746 and Christian Hassan who arrived in New Jersey in 1755.
