Long ago your people ate the manna in the desert, but yet they died. [Manna is the name of the bread that God sent to the people with Moses.] But here is the bread that comes down from heaven. A man may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my body. I will give my body so that the world can have eternal life’. According to mother Teresa in one heart full of love, Jesus is the Bread of life, just as Jesus fed five thousand men, ‘A man may eat it and not die.’ Jesus did not speak here about the death of a person’s body. He spoke about the death of the spirit that is inside a man. He called this the ‘second death’. These verses in the Bible give a wonderful promise to those who believe in Jesus. But when he spoke these words, many people did not understand. They went away from him.
We all know Jesus Christ is the spiritual manifestation, sustenance and eternal everlasting life to all true believing Christian. In the book one heart full of love a Hindu gentleman was once asked what a Christian? The Hindu gentleman response to that question was someone who gives of himself and asks nothing in return. “Jesus himself placed a condition on self giving, and the condition of self giving and the condition was, if you do not eat of my flesh and drink of his blood then you will have no life in you. The way through Jesus is the only way to ever receive everlasting life according to mother Teresa book one heart full of love Pg 2. The Bread of life is a simple concept in its rawest form; even a child can comprehend it according to the book. In the book one heart full of love Pg3. It describes the bread as “the simplest food for people everywhere and it is usually the cheapest. “Well, Christ became the Bread of Life for all of us. But it seems to Jesus that this very act was not enough for him. He wanted to give something more something everlasting. He wanted to pass on the opportunity to give of ourselves to him, so we could turn our love for him into living deeds after eating the bread of life. To accomplish this he became the hungry one, the naked one, the homeless one, the one striped of all earthly good and comforts because he loved us. According to the Gospel he will judge us at the hour of our death. We will be judged according by what we have done, by what we have been to the poor. For us, Christ is hidden under the suffering appeance of anyone who is hungry, anyone who is naked, and anyone who is homeless or dying. Jesus explains to us that he came from the heavens to give everlasting eternal life to man, and they will receive everlasting eternal life by believing in him. “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger.
And he who believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6: 35) Jesus used metaphorical language to lay emphasis on the great spiritual certainty. Seeing and Believing in Christ is equivalent to eating and drinking his flesh and blood, for the result is the same: Possession of eternal life and resurrection at the last day. We would not be mistaken if we follow Jesus own explanation of what it means to eat and drink, Jesus teaches us to believe in him, the Messiah, the son of God sent from heaven by the Father for our salvation. The scriptural sense is full of light and sweetness. By faith we partake of Christ and the benefits of his bodily sacrifice on the cross and the merits of his shed blood, receiving and enjoying eternal life.
Jesus explains the sense of the entire passage when he says, “It is the Sprit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are sprit, and they are life.” Through the teaching of Jesus Christ the bread of life is manifested in many ways, one way is the poor. If you really want to truly love, you must share. If your want poverty too totally disappear, share it. The poor deserve love as well as everyone else. Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Jesus loved until it hurt.
Jesus became the poor, he walked and talked with the poor and to fully understand the poor, we have to know what poverty is. We need to be poor According to mother Teresa in one heart full of love Pg43. God want chose, and he wants religion to be that chose coming from us, not dictated from God or anyone else… Religion is of the conscience each and every one of us has to make, not the dictated nor commanded by God but each and everyone of us has to decide how to worship or weather to worship, the choose is our not anyone else. I can not understand nor accept anyone not accepting religion as a whole nor can I attempt to force religion down anyone mouth. Religion as a whole should never be pushed on anyone just as no human, no law, and no institution can legally demand that anyone reject a religion that promises them peace, joy, and love. There were many things that the disciples did not understand. But they knew that the promise of eternal life came from Jesus. One day, Jesus would give his body on the cross so that people could have eternal life, and who ever eat from that bread, Jesus would have eternal life. John 6:47-51 ‘I tell you the truth. He who believes in me has eternal life. I am the bread of life!
