Before you slip into that dark blue dress, I would like to take time for another kiss.  Just one more chance at this, just one more chance at less than ruthlessness.  The streets are drawing down and it is time to find our place hopefully this time neither will contemplate the sacrifice.

How many times before working through those outlaid arms only to look up and find the wrong and remembering the times you should have been at the pew.  They days fade to night but the only thing the morning brings is the anxious feeling unsolicited delight

You waft past me slowly strolling with those funky shoes and Cheshire grin.  Let me stay for one more breakfast in your soul kitchen.  We could lay down again just this once and in my mind I hope tomorrow may never come.

Remember the way you sewed my heart just as though I thought it could never be put back from the parts.  I felt those lips I felt that kiss.  You hemmed my heart while I dreamt of your skirt while all the time I wanted to hem you up.  Sewn together or pulled apart today is not tomorrow and that is all I got.

Writing to the end without a clear goal in view, I want to hem you up with my heartstrings and not with glue.  Following the heart is a dangerous affair when you lean with the top you fall forward with fear but leaning back you will never get there.

Opposite of down is never where I will be if I don’t have you hemmed to my sleeve.  I will get you near me at all costs because without you my future is lost.  Get it together and never a part.  Hem you up from the very start.
