Essay

It was a chance encounter meeting but it was vital that I talked to the professor on the latest developments of our research. He is extraordinarily busy and gaining appointments at this very busy time in the academic year proves a difficult venture. Nevertheless, he seemed pleased to meet me and we retired to the Professors office where we might continue the discussion in private. Please take a seat James, uttered the Professor. Would you like a cup of Coffee? That would be marvelous Sir thank you very much. Now about these new developments in the research, let’s get down to business.

I had prepared a detailed portfolio of the key points in the advancements on the research project. The team had been working on a rather controversial aspect of developing the concept of cold fusion, leading to the dream of a limitless source of energy. The research project had been going on for over two years now but we had achieved only a limited amount of break throughs. The latest experiments clearly indicated that we were much closer to achieving a scientific breakthrough in the development of cold fusion.

The Professor said that he thought the initial findings were very encouraging but we might need additional funding in order to proceed to the next steps. I agreed and questioned as to whether the University might be prepared to assist? The Professor wasn’t sure but felt that we needed to progress with extreme caution and increase the level of security over our work. The Professor would arrange a meeting with the research team in order to discuss this and other matters before we proceeded further. In the meantime he would talk to the Chancellor on the matter and discuss the best approach on moving forward.
