The author in this article evaluates potential problems that are associated with illegal immigrants in different parts of the world and with specific interest with the United States. The author argument is based on the perspective of the immigrants as well as that one of officials of enforcing the law. Another concern of importance in this article concerns the social issues that predispose diverse cultures especially those affecting the children in the US as well as in other parts. Success in program implementation depends on the competency of addressing the social issues facing the illegal immigrants.

Boswell, Richard. “Racism and U.S. Immigration Law: Prospects for Reform after “9/11?” Journal of Gender, Race and Justice, 2003.

The article attributes serious attention to issues of race with respect to immigration law as is applicable in the United States. This has been a hindrance towards acquisition of tax ID numbers among the immigrants therefore blocking in to participate in programs. The author documents the high extent of lack of inclusion of the immigrants to various programs as a result of their class as well as race. Consequently, it has been extremely difficult to integrate the illegal immigrants in to the community. The immigration policy therefore has been facing problems which have persisted for a long time and little has been made to address the issue even in the immigration reform.

Incorporating illegal immigrants in programs has been complicated the terrorist attacks that have been associated with illegal immigrants. In this article, Romero highlights the contribution of illegal immigrants in terrorism. Consequently, the current system of immigration has been associated with a serious breakdown and a hence a need for remedy in order to provide basic case management to the immigrants as well as their families. However, a fair treatment of immigrants including immigration status regulation is a requirement if the programs have to be successful
