Essay

Today, the Nazis being political villains have taken place of corporations because it was facing difficulty in generating such Nazis who survived into the 21st century. “In Good Company” is a rare type a good film concerning to large businesses. This film seeks to provide the picture of corporate culture which strives to be evil and fails.

“In Good Company” has been considered as the common corporate slasher movie so far presents that good and fair people have to face some bad things due to the greedy and evil system. Afterwards, the movie shows a curious turn, which I will recommend without explaining, in which kindness and honesty exists and unpredicted modesty surfaces. Paul Weitz is the director of movie. He is the same person who with the help of his brother named Chris made top movies like “American Pie” and “About a Boy.” And with the background of these great works I cannot assume “In Good Company” to achieve the barbarity of “In the Company of Men,” by Neil LaBute, but it was strange to me totally the identical when the sun rises.

The comfort level role performed by Dan Quaid has been such that presents him effortlessly credible and substantial because as he struggles to secure the account from the considerable big client, then we can see how Dan implies psychiatric characteristics and his personal character for the magazine selling. Young Carter is far away for many years from that easiness. In the meantime, Topher Grace force him to perform as a child who has not the awareness about which Christmas provide he wishes to play with initially; he has attained the success rapidly than the experience and knowledge to tackle with it. Same as a rookie of pro sports, he can imagine of no more creative means for the celebration of his wealth than to acquire a new Porsche; he discovers that these sources of pleasures cannot remains with him forever.

In the film, Scarlett Johansson persists to exercise the corporate gravitational pull of fascination of quiet nature. She establishes a state of her personal importance through which men are not so much portrayed by lust for example by the sentiments that she understands somewhat concerning to life that the men may perhaps adept to learn. This thing moves the affair of Alex-Carter into a more interesting thing.

The character of Paymer’s presents the movie with emotional ballast corporate issues; he is not merely unemployed at his salary level and age, but probably out of work and unacceptable to stay alive with lower level life. His story is very usual and enough to understand corporate issues. The film presents that it is a strategy of corporate level to establish hierarchy levels for employees in order to imagine, through which the employees can start their career from junior level and then rise to the executive level. Numbers of students enter into the graduate colleges every year with this dream, without representing (a) that at the top level corporate management there are mostly fewer positions than the positions available at the lower level management, and (b) that thus, if the big corporations are even now recruiting at the lower level, it is due to the fact that the fatalities exist at the top level management. The film depicts that you can hire someone every time that is cheaper and younger to perform the job of the more experienced and older.

There is only one scene in the film that does very well although it is not so much convincing. The Teddy K, a conglomeratic and head of WorldCom, enters into the room with the intention of meeting with the employees, where he speaks numbers of corporate tired expression to an respected audience (one of the important things to achieve success in doing business is the capability to endure the gaseous stupidity of the management-speak for instance if they intended anything). Then Dan Quaid with all to lose stands up and describes very cruelly and clearly why Teddy K is just full of it. At whatever time some speaks the evident truth there is always a blatant shock on this occasion; how can these corporations stay alive with realism? Think about that soldier who said to Donald Rumsfeld, sir, may we ask for some extra armor, please?

In conclusion, “In Good Company” is a film that type of plays for instance Wall Street, but in the contrary, with clear comedic distinctions as well.  The film has exact tone and right viewpoint concerning the current corporate state of mind that has been affecting the American society and the overall corporate world. This corporate world has greed and the wicked search for profits and money is keystone to the vision of company and the flair behind these profits – the employees – are considered as disposable resources that can leave the job with that ease with which they are recruited on.  “In Good Company” is very pinpointing of this horrible “slash ‘n burn” philosophy that saturate the corporate society.
