Agricultural chemists play a major role in agricultural sector. It is indeed a career that anyone can dream of doing in life. Agricultural chemists advise farmers on the right chemical inputs to apply on their crops and livestock known for good yields also offers advice to rural industries on chemicals to produce and even the government on aspects of farming to ensure increase in productivity.

There increase innovations in agricultural sector and majorly use of technology has been incorporated which is an advantage but also pose a threat to many agricultural chemists. For example, those who are not able to implement or work with technology innovations it becomes difficult to operate hence loose of jobs this has scared most people and made the elites think twice about being an agricultural chemist.

Job opportunities associated with this field include collecting and analyzing data and samples of soil Ph, types of crop pests to ensure that right chemical control is applied, studying the environmental factors affecting the pasture, crop production and health measures in general, and then recommending the right chemical to use

Furthermore, this field offers studying on the effects of cultivation techniques, plant and animal diseases, insects and soil and crop production. Career holders will be able to come up with procedures and techniques of solving the agricultural problems faced by farmers. Also there are opportunities like investigating and also implementing managerial procedures to help curb the effects of insect and pest diseases, chemical application procedures and improving the efficiency of production.

Preparing forums and lectures on the proper use of correct chemical in the farm is also an opportunity available in this field of career taking. Advising farmers on issues like feeding programs, soil improvements and control of weeds and pest.

The emerging trends in agricultural sector like the Genetic Modified Organisms (GMOs) need the knowledge and advice from the agricultural chemists. Also the increase mechanization and equipment used in the farms needs minds that will advise on its proper use.

Food nutrition is another trend that is of high concern in this sector; it needs advisers who will advise farmers on the right chemical amount to be used and the right chemical to use to avoid too much lead.

Therefore, agricultural chemist have a large pool of employment opportunities in the agricultural sector hence those thinking of securing a job with ease should consider becoming agricultural chemists.
