Introduction
Development is of course an undeniable course that the world takes seriously at present. Along with development comes the consideration over the need to transform particular matters that mean so much to the human civilization that thrives on earth today. One specific aspect of development is that of the process of industrialization. In a way, humans have considered industrialization as the process of redefining life and a specific approach to creating new ways of living life in a more modernized manner. Notably though, this process of modernization has caused an alarming threat to one of the basic elements that make life worthwhile, the environment. Natural resources are of course known for their capability to replenish themselves. However, the need for human intervention is essential. In the course of making an extensive acceptance of industrialization, many have neglected the right intervention that humans are supposed to take charge with in connection with environmental preservation. Question is, should the process of development really take this devastating course of transformation? Is there really a need to choose between environment and industrialization, or is there another way to make both procedures work for the betterment of the system that is established as the most dependable source of social confidence? The discussion that follows shall better provide answers to the said inquiries in line with the considerable desire of humans to progress and the possible conditions by which they could still protect the environment while embracing development at the same time.
Understanding Industrialization
Industrialization is merely considered as the process of redefining the course by which humans treaded from a traditional pattern of living in the past. It is in a contrast pattern of life that is embraced by humans to welcome the era of modernization. Naturally, this process provides a conditional manner where humans are supposed to give up areas that were used for traditional procedures of living such as agriculture to give way to modern industries such as factories, office spaces, and other establishments that serve as home to modern sources of industrial living. Naturally, this particular consideration over industrialization also covers the field of commercialization wherein establishments of commerce are further pursued. The tie-up between industrial and commercial establishments creates the whole cycle that establishes the backbone of industrialization.
True, giving up local areas for these establishments has been proven as a source of confidence to many communities during the past few decades. The more modern establishments there are in an area, the higher the reputation the area receives. This is the reason behind the coinage of the term “urbanized” among areas that were highly transformed into becoming more industrial than agricultural in nature. Urbanization is now being considered as a trend that most municipalities and local areas hope to tread into. Relatively, the said recognition of being practically urbanized has become a desire that moved administrators of communities to accept the need to transform their areas into target locations of high-end factories as well as well-built sky scrapers. Through the years, this particular practice of development has been constantly affecting the way people lived and the way areas are transformed. Even the local aspect of agriculture slowly becomes an extinct process that humans use to produce food as well as to find a living. Fisheries are being turned into larger locations for chemical factories and so on and so forth. These many forms of changes have gradually lowered down the capacity of the natural resources around the areas affected to handle the natural process of re-growth. Understandably, the dire effect of the changes made it possible for such situations take over the capacity of nature to protect itself. As a result, humans themselves suffer from the scarcity of resources including the degeneration of the capability of natural resources to suffice the need of particular areas to sustain function and sturdiness. Humans however do not stop in the quest for development. Nevertheless, now more than ever, it could be realized that the human society has become more aware to the consequences of the actions that they have specifically incurred in the past. In a way, this particular realization has led to the creation of procedures that welcomed the possibility of increasing the capacity of the environment to be revived again. But would these procedures be enough to save what was left and protect those that are still to come in the future?
The Consideration over Nature and Environment
Due to the increased effects of global warming and the massive changes happening in the environment which often creates the possibility of occurring natural tragedies, humans have become more aware of the fact that their desire to embrace development does impose specific issues that can cause the destruction of nature and the delineation of the survival that they would want to ensure themselves with. To be able to make sure that such efforts are to be realized well, agencies and non government organizations have been established to raise awareness and promote programs that would encourage the society to give attention to the more important matters that count besides industrialization itself.
A particularly well-developed approach that is continuously being researched for at present includes that of the campaign towards green building and green living. Green building procedures are mainly dedicated to creating establishments that are environmentally sufficient that are able to withstand heat and cold in a manner that uses less electric energy to balance the temperature in such areas. Notably, there are other aspects of green building that are being continuously researched for at present in the aim of making the said procedure more conveniently adapted even by those hoping to create cost-less establishments for business and industrial operations. Green living on the other hand is considered as the process by which human adjust their way of living into becoming more eco-friendly through utilizing more earth-friendly products and embracing more earth-friendly procedures of completing their everyday tasks especially those involving the use of electric energy and fuel.
Conclusion
Industrialization and the process of protecting nature have always been considered as two-contradicting matters that humans have to live with. However, with proper efforts on the part of humans as they intervene the situation, both procedures could be embraced properly hence aiding the course of development. Relatively though, remaining balance is an important part of the process. Being overtly inclined to development while neglecting the worth of the environment and the natural resources thriving in it would only cause more damage than benefit to the growth of the human society. This is a matter that every advocate of industrialization must constantly realize.
