Given what you have learned about interdisciplinary team work (IDT), provide your interpretation of what an IDT is and what is required for a successful IDT.

The basic idea of interdisciplinary teamwork is individuals with differing professional or academic backgrounds coming together in order to collaborate towards some specific effort.  Within a business or professional setting, this would be the participation of different departments in a specific goal.  In this way, the specific skillsets of the individuals involved can be pooled together in order to create a stronger overall workforce in facing the problem at hand.  In assessing insights from these varying viewpoints, a more cohesive framework for identifying, assessing, and overcoming specific problems.  In approaching the issues in this way, a more dynamic understanding of the problems at hand can be understood and the goals of the individuals within the IDT can be fully achieved.

Discuss what your intended career might be in the helping professions, what people/groups you will serve, and what other professions might be included in your IDT.

One intended careers in the helping professions is to be a nurse.  The people or groups that would be served would be mostly the elderly, although younger individuals with sicknesses would need to be helped as well.  Other professions that would have to be worked alongside in an IDT environment would be doctors, office workers, and other professionals in various professional departments.  This would be in order to provide the most comprehensive service to the patients allow for the fullest benefit to their health.  By promoting the opinions of various experts, a more dynamic aspect of the underlying issues can be understood.  This will allow the job to be completed in a more efficient and precise manner.
