Law and Governance Program Personal Statement, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 294

Essay

Academic background in Political Science and History as well as professional experience in education has provided me with unique perspectives into global political history. I believe that a better understanding of recent geopolitical events is best gained through studying the events that have shaped different nations around the world. The study of the historical evolution of different nations provides us with useful clues into their political philosophies and how diplomatic relations with them can be improved.I am interested in Law and Governance program at Montclair State University because it perfectly suits my strengths and interests and I have heard great things about the learning opportunities provided by the program.

I will bring unique experiences to the program as someone who has lived under communism in Poland as well as seen the transition to democracy and who has had the fortune of being a Fellow of the Ministry of Education in Poland as well as the Principal of a Polish Supplementary School in the U.S. I aim to become a lifelong diplomat, hoping to work with both political as well as non-profit organizations such as UNICEF. I always strive to understand the world better and how I can play a role in improving cross cultural understanding. This is why Law and Governance program at Montclair State University is an important part of my future goals because I desire to improve my understanding of the legal frameworks that guide policymaking. I hope to learn from my fellow students in the program as well as provide my own perspectives to make the program a great success. Please do let me know if you have any questions. I would love the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss how I can maximize my learning at Montclair State University.
