Essay

From the practice quiz, the most difficult questions were numbers 2-4 because they needed one to be a critical thinker. The questions seem to be obvious or straightforward, but a twist has been added and thus needs a critical thinker to answer the questions. In answering the questions, I needed to have a proper attitude that embodies intellectual humility, high motivation, open-mindedness, and freethinking. It is said that critical thinkers are neither dogmatic nor gullible and therefore, they do not try to please others or find fault with other people’s views (Jackson & Newberry, 2011). As a result, critical thinkers maintain the goal of getting or learning the truth and accept that we fall and be on the wrong at some point in life.

The easy questions were from number 14 to 30. These questions were engaging one’s mind and were educative. These questions were more on the problems affecting one’s life and therefore, they are relevant to an individual’s life. Moreover, the questions are related to life questions and or situations and thus, the perspectives I applied to answer the questions are from a critical point of view (Jackson & Newberry, 2011).

Critical skill is essential for any student in graduate school because it fosters teamwork and promotes options. Teamwork is a significant part of students’ process of learning as they are able to share ideas and experiences. This helps them boost their knowledge ground and promotes cooperation among group members. This cooperation helps them formulate questions and answers during group discussion forums and thus, no time is lost trying to come up with answers. Furthermore, options among student in graduate school are promoted and this helps them in building future relationships in their work environment (Anderson & Media, n.d.). In future profession, critical thinking will help in uncovering spinoffs because I will look at situations with a “critical eye” and solve the issue comprehensively. This implies that an issue will bring up new information used or applied to other situations and hence, problems are solved through another question using critical questions.
