Case Study

Let me tell you about myself. I live a full and proactive life, filled with self-imposed challenges. As a responsible, reliable person, I am passionate about music and enjoy singing and dancing whenever I have the chance. I love conversation, hearing stories, taking calculated risks, and making personal discoveries for myself.

My hobbies include art, photography, video journals, and reading. The subjects that draw my interest are psychology, philosophy, astronomy, and astrology. I find the ancient histories of the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese to be fascinating.

I am a funny, cool person who is nice to, and joyful around, others. Friends say that I am funny and full of energy. My sweet and easy-going demeanor complements my confident (not conceited), open mind. I have eclectic, soulful tastes and enjoy being fashionable and stylish. I like to meet people who share my interests.

Let me tell you about my global goals, should I win the prize. First, I would use travel to make important, cross-cultural connections, encountering diversity with open arms, establishing respect with open hearts, and appreciating tolerance with open minds. Next, I would seek inspirational experiences from new acquaintances, new places, and new customs because of my international experiences.

In time, it is my wish that a legion of like-minded people will emerge from shadowy places to adopt my worldwide philosophy as an ambassador of goodwill. The more people step forward, the more peace and harmony we will see, hear, and know. Most of my colleagues for humanity will come to know that the more you give, the more you receive. In fact, we will learn quickly what we knew all along: What goes around comes around. There will be a general evolution in the way people approach their relationships with others.

Let me tell you about my four-point plan. My work will focus on these things:

  • Activism and Humanitarianism Efforts: An example of this would be to reconstruct peoples and regions affected by natural disasters. Another example would be to bring AIDS awareness and to build wells for communities in order for them to have clean water to drink.
  • Cultural Efforts: An example of this is to bring art and music to impoverished nations so that people can express their innermost feelings at deeply felt levels.
  • Historical Site Preservation Efforts: An example of this is the restoration of places where significant, human history-altering events have taken place. This will occur so that subsequent generations of the world’s children will have places to visit and remember. Some of these places will remind of us of diabolical, never-to-be-repeated events. Others will inspire us because of the correctness of their results.
  • Political Efforts: An example would be a journey through India to study Gandhi and Yoga. I hope that I can meet the Dalai Lama.

Just writing about this makes it hard for me to contain my enthusiasm for this project. I will surround myself with those who are mentally mature, who know the value of tearing down walls of hatred and prejudice. I am ready to share my life with others and spend my life to serve the downtrodden and the disadvantaged.
