      1. The average life span of today’s day and age. Compare that to a decade ago and analyze whether it is a positive or negative change.
        1. The average life span in today’s day in age is 70 years.
        2. A decade prior the average life expectancy was 80 years of age.
      2. Factors that can drastically change that average.
        1. Health related factors, uncontrollable.
        2. Health related factors, self inflicted such as drinking and smoking.
        3. Obesity and other diseases.

    1. Prolonging life expectancy

        3. Generation of replacement organs using stem cells.
      2. The types of interventions that is controversial due to the ethical question.
      3. Objections have arisen based on the premise of utilitarian and consequentiality approaches; a justice-based and equalitarian-based perspective; as well as natural law and divine law.
      4. Other considerations include cost and benefits of the extended longevity; human safety of the trials; equality of access; and altering the human aging process.
