Home and Family

My major help in making career choices has been my family. I knew and learned about responsibilities from my home and family. I almost gave up on many things but was able to attain them because I was motivated and always consulted my family for advice. They gave me a pat on the back and corrected me where I went wrong.  They motivated me to work harder and always encouraged me to put more effort for better grades.

Studying

It’s through studying that i gained the knowhow that made me qualified in my field. I needed to study more to be a professional and expertise and which also helped me grow career wise. It wouldn’t have been easy to choose a career without knowing what it entailed. In school, I found myself studying and enjoying some lessons than others which helped me in identifying where my interest lied thus making it easy to identify which career to settle on.

Working

We work to meet our needs and wants. In working, I have found what I enjoy doing practically. I developed a passion while working and saw it wise to study more to get knowledge in my area of work.

Community Service

Voluntarily giving back to the community is an important role in life. It may be in a religious, political or social way but whichever the case it’s voluntary. I got to learn a lot from it that went a long way in helping me in my life as I grow older. Some virtues and values I got from it really helped in my career and how to relate with others.

Leisure Activities

Leisures activities help one to re-energize or refresh after the day to day life routines. You get time to stay away from the issues, stresses of life which promotes the well being of a person, physically, emotionally and health wise. When I felt worn out I used my leisure time wisely which was one thing that made me sharp in my work. I use to read a lot which is somehow different from studying which helped me get bits of information from different books that boosted my career. I cannot actually say it helped me in choosing my career but through the habits, it sharpened my skills.

In super life stages we have:

Exploration

This is the stage where I wasn’t sure of what I really wanted to pursue and I hadn’t settled on a career. In this stage I was able to discover my weaknesses and strength that is very important in life. I tried different fields before I made up my mind but it was an exciting phase of life since it’s where I made decision on what to pursue. I had to decide on what to do then be specific on it then made plans on how to meet my career objectives.

Establishment

This is the stage after I settled on what am pursuing in which I started working towards growing career wise. I became more comfortable after being stable thus giving me a challenge to start  advancing career wise.

Maintenance

I needed to be conversant with the changing environment and the latest technologies to safeguard my career. I accomplished this by constant reminding, reading, studying, referring and adjusting to the latest changes taking place.

Disengagement

This is the stage where one is limited due to either old age or physical challenges which I pray not to reach by keeping fit and adjust with ease to changes by training and checking on the well being of the body.

Recycling

When one changes his or her career they go through the same stage they have been before. I haven’t changed my career yet and do not intend to therefore cannot make assumptions on this point.
