- There were many issues that came to rise with the 1996 Presidential election.
- One major issue was the War against Afghanistan.
- There was the split level realignment of thinking with “regards to the precarious dollar which proved to later be the almost recession of the American economy.” (Busch, A. & Caesar, J, 1997, 147).
- Another precarious notion to be dealt with was the idea that the Republicans controlled the executive branch of government whilst Congress was controlled by the Democrats. The authors of the book were seeking to show the two party split which is what makes up an American Democracy.
- The core of “Losing to Win” has shown the various attempts of the American Democracy to experiment with different ways to arrange the powers of the parties which have always revolved back to the Democrats and the Republicans.
- The Republican Party has always been the one accentuated as the traditional party and the Democrats have been accentuated or portrayed as liberals controlling the Congress.
- George Bush was assimilated from the Republican Party and won the election though the Democrats held majority rule in Congress.
- This power was assumed through the 1992 election of Bill Clinton.
- The results of the electoral process gave rise to why the President won the 1996 election.
- Plurality won the 1992 election for Bill Clinton and with that said the states had become Democratic in the elections.
- This carried on to the 1996 elections along with the strong Republican claim in the House.
- One election gave rise to the next election and it is said that a third party was rising. This split caused the oppression of the Democrats for the 1996 election and gave rise to the Republican win.
