Luke Bryan Farm Tour, Essay Example

Music is a major unifying factor that allows people to put aside their differences and worries to come together to listen to the soothing compositions developed by the music composers. For this paper, the main task was attending several concerts, all of which were different, as will be explained in the article. The experience collected from attending these events has not only been an eyeopener, but it has also brought to various light issues that have often been neglected within the society, especially the music industry. The primary purpose of this paper is to discuss some findings and opinions that had been developed in the concert’s course journey experienced after attending two different shows which were equally impressive while different from each other.

The main task when developing this paper was selecting the best concert to attend, which were within the provided selection criteria of them being a live musical event. After making several considerations and conducting research on the circumstances, two of several functions matched the principles that had been provided by the lecturer. When making these plans, some concerns that were made were the location, travel expenses, ticket prices, and also the musicians and composers who were to attend the selected events. The planning process had to be taken seriously because it would be a shame to participate in a concert which is not only expensive but also not as exciting as it would be since the selected show would be out of the usual music genres most people are used to listening to on the daily.

The first event attended was the Luke Bryan Farm Tour concert held in Norman, Oklahoma. The main reason this was selected was because of the different music being played and also the exciting selection of the performance location. Just like the name, the musical concert was held within a farm. The whole stage setup was planned out in the middle of the wheat field, which seemed to have just been cut. The event was held on October 5, and it took place in the evening hours of the day. The most exciting thing about the even was how social the main act Luke Bryan was with the people in attendance. One could quickly think they all came from the same town, or they all knew each other. The main reason for saying this is that during the concert, Luke took part in a gender reveal, and it was astonishing to hear him say that this was his first-ever gender reveal. This was the most memorable thing about the vent because it is quite rare for most of the gender shows to be done within a musical concert.  Before the main act took to the stage, the opening act was Cole Swindell, who sang several songs, and most of the people in attendance would sing alongside him. After his performance, the main action, Luke, arrived in a four-wheeler, which he used as his mini-stage for his first song. He stood on top of it and led the crowd in singing as he played his first song. Most of those in attendance would help him sing word for word all his songs, and this was a great site to look at and be part of. Later in his performance, he was joined by Cole Swindell, and they both sang a song which the crowd would also join in, especially in the chorus. The scene was quite breath-taking. Later on, during the event, the owner of the farm where the concert was held was called forward, and he was handed a cheque. It was later that I found out that the primary purpose of the event was to help raise funds for the farmers while also promoting their craft to the public (McDonnell). As the game ended, one would easily say that the whole setup was out of the regular where the event is held in stadiums, but this created an ambient environment where anyone would feel quite comfortable.

The second event was selected based on the seasonal activity of it being the Christmas season. It is quite easy to get groups of people already singing some Christmas songs all over. The second event on the list would be hosted in Claremore, Oklahoma, and this was attended on Monday, 2nd December. Unlike the other activity designed to help some members of the community from the funds raised, this event was more of a family event, with the performers being given the ability to showcase their talents. The Christmas tree Lighting event would have a high school quartet perform using different saxophones. Unlike the previous game where most of the people would sing along, the best one would do to help in their performance was to him to their songs while swaying in some uniform manner. One would easily think it is a form of a cult from the way the people moved in unison as they played their saxophones. Each of the students had different saxophones. From consultation, the saxophone used were the regular saxophone, Bass saxophone, Tenor saxophone, and a soprano saxophone. This was quite interesting to find out since I only knew that a saxophone did not come in different types, as displayed here. Even though it was on a Monday, the students livened the mood to those attending as they played some classic Christmas Carol, including silent night, which is a favorite. This community event was a new annual event where members of the community would meet at the site of the tree lighting, and people would share popcorns as they drunk hot chocolate because it was quite a cold evening. The same event is also expected to take place next year with a new set of performers just as the quartet was at this year’s event.

After attending these two events, it was easily understood why some people would pick these events from the highly publicized events with major international artists. These events showed a sense of commonality. Everyone at these events treated each other with respect and honor as if they all knew each other when, in essence, only some few people there knew each other. The events were also relatively cheap, but the fun within the locations was worth the time and the effort taken to plan and attend these events. After extensive consideration from experience provided in these events, I would highly recommend that someone should try attending either of these events because they will be exposed to a range of music, some of which are better than those being played all over the media stations and outlets.
