Essay

Ferromagnetism is recognized as a type of magnetic material in which the atoms have permanent magnetic moments that align readily with an externally applied magnetic field. An example if ferromagnetism is known as lodestone, which is a naturally-occurring mineral. Ferromagnetism also takes place in very rare earth elements. As opposed to other kinds of substances, ferromagnetic materials are able to magnetize with easy and when placed in strong magnetic fields, this magnetization reaches a kind of limit that is recognized as saturation. when under certain temperatures, ferromagnetic materials lose their properties, therefore making them lose their certain magnetic qualities.

Paramagnetism is defined as those substances that are able to be attracted within a magnetic field. This kind of attraction is the result of the spinning of electrons. These electrons, in a way, act as little magnets. Specific example of paramagnetism examples include, but are not limited to, lithium and tantalum. In paramagnetism, magnets are not able to retain any kind of magnetization when there is no externally applied magnetic field because of the fact that thermal motion randomly spins the orientations that are to be help responsible for the kind of magnetism that will take place.

Diamagnetism is defined as a kind of property in which an object or a kind of material that causes it to supply it with a magnetic field in opposition to an externally applied magnetic field. As a result of this, diamagnets are often repelled by magnetic fields and ultimately lead to unusual and unpredictable effects. These effects may include factors that can happen such as the levitation of a diamagnetic material in the event that it is located above a powerful magnet. Examples of diamagnetism include, but are not limited to, pyrolytic carbon, superconductors and bismuth.
