Essay
  • What are some of the quantitative and qualitative criteria for project selection. Please provide an example and implications of each model.

The quantitative criteria for project selection often include the number-based examination over the elements that are needed for the completion of a particular project. Through statistical data, project managers are expected to create a numerical basis on which the entire work shall be based upon. This data shall be used to note whether or not the project being proposed is feasible and if it does have the right value to be passed on for approval and application.

One example of this section involves the observation of the demographics of individuals who are supposed to be affected by the project. Knowing the specific number of individuals who are to be affected shall determine whether the project has a valuable stance for the society it hopes to serve.

On the other end, the qualitative criteria reflects more on how the project managers and the board of judges who are to select the right project for pursuance see the value of the work being proposed. Based from the presented data that has been collected through quantitative examination of the elements that are included within the project. An example of this could be the exchange of opinions between the board of judges and the ideas they share so as to prove that a project is worth completing for the sake of the stakeholders they hope to affect.

  • What are the inputs, tools & techniques and outputs for defining the scope of the project?

Statistical measurements such as the ANOVA could be used to point out what scope of implementation of project a particular work to be pursued is dependent upon. Notably, this approach allows the researchers of the project to see what type of conditions should be considered especially when it comes lining up the scopes and limitations that the project is under. Relatively, the statistical presentations provide a more viable source of condition that increases the confidence of the project manager and the project staff as well when it comes to completing the work that has been planned for.
