Research Paper

The career choice I had in mind is specializing and majoring in the field of manufacturing engineering. This area of interest builds an individual and develops their working experience and technical knowledge in the long run. The discipline majorly focuses on making skills in regards to any manufacturing company operation. A manufacturing engineer is usually tasked with operation and maintenance of machinery within a manufacturing plant. The elements acquired from the information sources offered different reactions. The first two references were retrieved from the WKU online libraries and accessed for beneficial information.

The book by Anthony provides the insight on how one can implement the use of various engineering tools, the methods and techniques used in running tan industry. Operating and working within a manufacturing company requires a high exposure and extensive hours of training to be able to get to the point of achievement or success within the company. The second source I looked into comprised of a journal article forms part of the Computer Weekly Review, published in the month of May 7, the year of 2006. The information is accessible on the WKU libraries. This article did not offer me a lot of insight and awareness information regarding Manufacturing engineering as a career choice. The information was general and shallow on the given topic of manufacturing engineering.  Unlike the article this article, the textbook offered impressive information.

The third information access entailed the search of information from the search engine Google. The material that interested me was on the Google Book service, comprising the book offering data on the topic fundamentals elements of manufacturing engineering. The book by Crowson, Richard titled, The Handbook of Manufacturing Engineering, holds a great value of information regarding the study of manufacturing engineering and takes us through the learning process of the various approaches to implanting and controlling a systems manufacturing and the plant. This will provided me with the knowledge to help me advance my knowledge and move one step closer to achieving professionalism in my career path choice.

The forth and only reference or source that proved to be quite detailed and very informative in advising me on my career path is the link to the Home page of the Occupational Outlook Handbook for the United States Bureau of Statistics This website link provides statistical information, the facts and figures collected over a long period of time. The use of these facts and figures often show the trend over the years, in this particular scenario, I searched for the wage rates for individuals in my line or career choice. The http://www.bls.gov/ooh/ webpage offered information stating that a career in Industrial Engineering, preferably working Manufacturing engineer or analyst gives a satisfactory pay of $78,000 per annum.  In my view, I believe that the earning quoted for a Bachelor’s Degree level is a great point to start from in my career path.

Conclusively, the information retrieved from all the sources has aided in shaping my opinion towards my decision for that particular career path. The information and readings referred to has helped realize the importance of conducting research in my field of interest to aid in acquiring more knowledge and experience in the real world working environment.
