There are many cultural groups in everyday life in our society today.  Cultural groups in everyday life can imply to any form of culture which is further classified by status, ethnicity, residence, religion, among others.  Cultural groups in everyday life develop because of their social tensions, or they are attempting to be a solution of their social problems.  Additionally, cultural groups in everyday life can also develop as a means of simply resisting authority, or trying to develop this definite identity by reacting to what takes place around them.  “They are not to be read as simply resisting domination or as miraculous resolutions to the social tensions”, cultural groups in everyday life form in collective as well as symbolic engagements with the larger system of late industrial culture; they are organized around, but not entirely determined by, age as well as class, and are articulated in the establishment of styles.”  Cultural groups in everyday lifeare articulated in the establishment of styles which are produced in precise historical events, along with cultural circumstances.  They come out independent, not because they are resisting authority.

In ranking the cultural groups to which I subscribe, I take in to account that, social interactions, arts as well as customs play a crucial role. The cultural groups that are likely to yield highest in terms of human intellectual achievements are placed at the top of the list as they are likely to result to an enhanced cultural understanding. Parentage, Marriage, Fraternity and Kinship groups are important concepts in the human society and emerged in the first stages in the human prehistory and this makes them to be the most important cultural groups to which I subscribe. It is important to have a clear understanding of the cultural groups to which I subscribe which plays a crucial role in the understanding of the world, the ideas, the believes as well as the values that are experienced on a daily basis (Hasmath, 2011).

The environment in which a person lives plays a significant role in influencing the cultural groups to which the individual subscribe. For example someone living in the urban metropolis will have a different pattern of cultural groups as compared to a person who loves in the rural area. Even in a metropolis scope, the specific location where a person lives will have dramatic implications in cultural groups to which the individual subscribe. The cultural groups to which the individual subscribes is a reflection of the attitude of the individual, the world view, values as well as a way of life (Hasmath, 2011). Therefore, cultural groups to which the individual subscribe is an avenue of creation of cultural symbols as well as creation of the sense of self which ultimately resonate with the personal identity. Whereas some of the aspects in cultural groups to which the individual subscribe are voluntary, others are not. Choices may be constrained by the social as well as the technical systems that surround an individual
