My Best Friend Mohammed, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 568

Essay

For the last ten years, Mohammed has been my friend. I met with Mohammed during my days in high school, and since then, we became the best of friends. I must admit that I am very fortunate to have a friend with the character of Mohammed. He is always there whenever I need his assistance. During my days in high school, he was the head of mathematics and very effective in the group discussion. Were it not for him, my academic performance in high school would have been in jeopardy. Physically, Mohammed is a tall and slim man. He has a round face, red eyes, medium sized ears, and white teeth. He is used to keeping his hair short, and one can notice he is handsome anytime he smiles. Emotionally, Mohammed is always in good mood, but he can be very lethal when angry. Although he is an ardent debater, he does not love arguing with people; even so, he rarely loses in an argument. Mohammed always helps to show my best character by being encouraging and positive. In terms of hobbies, and opinions, we are almost similar.

Although we are not from a similar Christian background, I sometimes accompany Mohammed to the Mosque. He respects Christians so much, and he always ensures to call me on Sunday to remind me to attend the sermon. Although he lives in a separate town, we meet often to talk about different issues regarding life. Mohammed is just as a member of my family, and he has earned himself trust and respect to close members of my family. I find him very kind and honest, because he speaks his mind. This character has helped me so much, because whenever I do something stupid, he does not hesitate to condemn it. Owing to the number of years we have been friends, Mohammed has mastered my character. He can easily tell when I am pulling his legs, and when I am telling the truth. Only God knows how he manages to do this. It impossible to explain but I am very fond of him so much so that, I never feel bored in his company.

Mohammed believes in himself, and does not give up easily. I must admit he has a stubborn character that does not allow him to admit failure. Consequently, he is stubborn with him family members, but as a friend, we have never rubbed shoulders. We have promised each other never to part ways even when things are so thick. It is impossible to believe that this friendship will ever end. I recall with nostalgia the first day we met, I was extremely nervous because I was new in that school and so I knew very few friends. I was heading to class in a chilly morning. I was having a hard time tracing my class and the hallway was very narrow. Consequently, it was quite a task to make my way through students standing along the corridors. The floor was wet and I almost slid, when he came to my rescue. I was very grateful for his kind gesture and we started conversing. It is then that I discovered he was my classmate. It did not hit my mind then that he was to become my best friend form that day onwards. Even after finishing high school, Mohammed continues to be my friend and this will go on days without end.
