Case Study

Introduction

In the field of modern freight transfer industry, the new technology-based operations are making the whole industry more efficient especially in the process of making an effective definition of their reputation among their target clients. This is the reason why effective IT operations have been better considered as a primary part of the major operations of the business included within the said industry. Being a primary requirement, freight delivery service providers are trying their best to accommodate new IT operations that are assured to provide expansive commissions that are assured to increase the company efficiency in serving client needs.

Enjoined in the industry is Rapid Freight. It could be analyzed that the company has been trying to improve its services to further increase its revenues and further define its reputation among its clients. In the discussion that follows an analysis of the primary issues shall be presented. Through pointing out the most considerable adjustments that the company hopes to incur, particular solutions are to be presented as well. In line with the most considerable sources of electronic and/or digital upgrade systems, the solutions are to be imposed herein.

Issues and Problems

To note, there are particularly five primary issues that Rapid Freight hope to content with in line with its desire to find the most confident way of serving their client’s needs. These five particular control issues are to be noted as follows:

  • Increase or at least improve bandwidth distribution among the networks of the organization towards the most comprehensive locations that hold the most number of clients that the business serves.
  • Reduction of travel and freight delivery sites through the use of high-end technology solutions. It is hoped that increasing administrator visibility between locations and points of transfer among the branches of the organization would further develop the impact of the business into the market target they to serve.
  • Lessening telephone calls; it is assumed that telephone calls have been duly utilized before as an effective point of connection between branches of freight transfer operations. However, as the incoming effect of digital technology, telecommunications through phone connections have slowly been replaced by more interactive connection.
  • Initiating the establishment of voice conferences and opening more voice-based operations that could best cater to the needs of the clients and further lessening the time-constraints between delivery operations.
  • Monitoring and managing the incoming and outgoing calls and conferences that are designed to improve the business operation and client-relationship; this approach is assumed to provide effective indication that the business consumes just right for the sake of each operational-development.

These primary issues have been considered since they are seen to take a definite turn in improving the course of development and revenue acceptance that the business is benefiting from. Considering that the other organizations in the industry are already imposing particular procedures that make their business rather dependable and reliable for most clients in the market, Rapid Freight is also embracing the same course of development that other organizations are doing so.

Possible Resolutions

To take note, three of these issues could be put together and be resolved by one specific resolution. Lessening telephone calls and insisting voice conferences between branches is expected to be better imposed through the implication of improving the bandwidth speed utilized by the company’s network of operators between three particular locations including Chicago, Los Angeles and Baltimore. It is assumed that through increasing the said bandwidth, handling voice conferences and lessening telephone calls would be a much easier process to embrace. However, to complete the adjustment of the bandwidth through simply paying for higher bandwidth service from an ISP operator would be so much of an expensive consideration.

This is the reason why it is suggested that reserving bandwidth operations should be considered; it is also considered that identifying the traffic hogs could also improve the process of assuming the lessening of the weight of the traffic being passed on through the network (Van Grembergen, 2009). Utilizing particular software programs that are released in the market to identify traffic packets over the network could best help in this process. Particular programs may include Packeteer’s PacketShaper and the NetReality program which directly provide identification on the traffic sources that are present in a particular network. In the process of doing so, it is expected that unwanted traffic sources from P2P (person to person; among employees) users are to be identified hence are to be lessened through the implication of a workable specialized network management system (Bird, 2010). Through this approach, monitoring the operations handled online is to be closely given attention to. Naturally, this further enhances the capability of the organization to handle more comprehensive operation developments that would best serve the needs of their clients from all over the country through improving the time-line of delivery between locations (De Haes, et al, 2009). VOIP or voice over internet protocol as well as video conferencing is among the most complex operations that are designed to be adapted by the organization through the improvement of the bandwidth speed of their network hence further improving the condition of service being provided by the organization.

Conclusion

From the different points developments focused upon in this presentation, it could be analyzed that electronic and digital operations are expected to make a definite change in the development of the business’ definition of their reputation in the industry. With ample consideration on the new electronic operations of the organization, it is expected that the administrators would be able to better embrace such improvements hence inclusively heightening the benefits of the business from the market with the operations it is specifically dedicated to commit to.
