Marketing Plan

Project Background
Internet service has become one of the most common requirements that modern communities need to survive and specifically be accounted for development and progress.  Understandably, it could be assumed that the emergence of information technology has also created a great loop of differentiation between communities that receive stable internet service compared to those that cannot afford or at some point cannot be reached by the said type of communications service. Even in urban areas, there are still some remote locations that do not get as much internet use exposure compared to others. At some point, some of these particular communities become specifically delineated from the proper course of progress that the modern society is designed to evolve with. Hence, to further equip these communities with the possibility and capacity to progress, it is suggested in this project management approach that the establishment of a community internet café be considered as an extension of a particular internet service provider organization.

The organization is to benefit from this process in the form of bettering the reputation it has in the communities surrounding it and also possibly increase the number of new clients that are willing to consider subscribing to the services that the ISP organization provides the community with. The creation of this developmental approach to embracing progress as part of the general culture of modern communities is expected to increase the knowledge of people towards the benefits of the internet while also increasing the interest of the people to accept internet services from the provider that is to be expected to give service in this project.

Rationale of the Project

  • Suggesting for the extension of service that an internet service provider offers towards the community

Objectives of the Project

  • To improve the knowledge of the community members towards basic computing as well as the benefits of the internet in their personal lives and their community as well.
  • To establish an understanding among the target communities that the digital age should not be feared instead should be embraced with full acceptance to make sure it does handle the function it is supposed to present the society with, the need to progress fully in the face of the high-tech world operated by the internet and the computers.
  • To establish rapport with the community and create an approach of effective marketing for interested subscribers of the service

Target Problem to be Resolved

There are still several communities that do not receive ample internet service in Texas. Due to the fact that at some point, the area still boasts huge acres of lands dedicated to agriculture and farming, some areas in the said state remain unconnected to the internet or if they are, the access are limited. Besides that, those that have access may not have the right skills that they need to operate a computer to its fullest hence are hindered to realize the real benefits of this new technology. True, even though most of the people in the area want to stick to tradition and culture, there is nothing wrong in considering something new and innovative such as the utilization of internet services to improve the flow of information into the community.

The project being contended in this presentation is expected to ease the elimination of such problems within certain areas in Texas. This approach is not designed to ruin the image of the state especially when it comes to retaining the integrity of its original culture and traditional way of living, instead, it is hoped to create a bridge that would settle the progressive opportunities of the state in line with the beneficial offering that internet service providers could give them in line with opening their doors to more informative procedures that aid them towards social innovation and development.

People and Organizations Involved in the Project

To be able to spear through the project’s completion, the program being suggested herein shall be presented to prospective ISP organizations that are willing to help in the cause and receive practical benefits for business in the end. This means that the project organizer shall try to encourage several ISP organizations to engage in the project hence giving it a stronger foundation that will surely define its worth not only for the organizations involved but also for the target communities to be affected by the procedure of development and project completion being suggested herein.

Value of the Project to the Organization

As mentioned earlier, the benefit of this project towards the organization is two-fold, this could be further defined in the diagram below:

Value of the Project to the Organization

As seen from the diagram presented herein, it could be realized that the two-fold benefit that the organization/s that are to enjoin in the project would define their capacity to invite more from the market to invest in the services that they have to offer the communities with. Helping the people understand what the internet is, how it works and how it benefits the people living in any particular type of community is expected to convince prospective subscribers to finally decide to accept what the organization/s have to offer. Practically, this process of marketing and developing a better reputation for the business is a course that specifically creates a more specific designation of market influence that is even stronger than the ads that are presented through media.

Because of the fact that this approach embraces the principles of community service and assistance, the increase of the reputable identity of the organization hopes to manage to concentrate on how the image of the organization takes on the interest of the people. True, company appeal is an important factor that businesses today hope to depend on especially when it comes to improving and widening their scope of effect in the market. In adapting this project and its principles of application, the reputation of the organization/s involved shall be improved hence getting the attention of those who are willing to accept their services within or even outside the communities being targeted within the specifics of this project.

Suggested Solutions for Application

Since information technology is an inevitable development in the society today, it is expected that embracing its impact in the society is a crucial stage of development that different communities are supposed to accept. However, simply pushing these communities to embrace change is impossible especially if they are entangled with the idea of retaining culture and tradition as intact as possible to be a way of living. Relatively though, with the ample concentration on providing them proper knowledge about the matter they are to accept would help them realize the worth of such development and later on learn how to accept the clauses of adjustments that are engaged with the said change.

The same thing is true when it comes to the utilization of the internet. Having a community know more about the basics of computer use and internet operation provides them the chance to really decide whether or not the said system would ruin their current cultural heritage and bring an end to traditions that they and their forefathers have been used to. Understandably, there are instances when people develop wrong notions about internet and computer utilization due to ignorance. This is the reason why this project is aimed at helping the members of the society become more knowledgeable about the system used by the internet to promote information sharing and also more decisive in whether or not to accept the said aspect of general social progress.

Project Success Criteria

There are certain project criteria points that are specifically hoped to be accomplished during the management of the completion of this suggestive resolution. The said points shall better define whether or not the project has been able to accomplish its goals and be considered as a great success:

  1. Capability of the project to increase the community’s knowledge on basic computing
  2. Capability of the project to clarify some issues regarding the beneficial utilization of internet as part of social progress approaches.
  3. Capability of the project to help the members of the community to realize their need to be connected to other members of the society through the effective and responsible use of the computers
  4. Capability of the program to be imposed through the project to increase the sales from subscriptions that shall be produced among the organizations who enjoin in the process.

Schedule of Activities

Schedule of Activities

The diagram above shows the three aspects of the activities that are to be performed in line with the project being suggested. To make sure that all three aspects of computer utilization development and internet usage improvement are to be given proper attention to, the following schedule of activities shall be followed:

Schedule of Activities 2

The hierarchy of the scheduled activities to be completed is obviously directed towards the ideal process by which the community and its members are given the chance to familiarize themselves with computer procedures hence inspiring them to accept ISP provision services from the organization of their choice. During the sessions for educational classes, handouts of marketing leaflets from the organizations enjoined in the program could be handed to the students and the clients all at the same time.

Resources for Project Completion

Resources for Project Completion

The capacity of the program to retain its specific strength in responding to the needs of the community it serves relies on the instance by which all the facilities needed as well as that of the materials required are put together to good and systematic utilization. Notably, it could be analyzed that it is with the systematic and collaborative institution of these materials and facilities that the workforce assigned to complete the tasks for the completion of the project would be well equipped to handle the challenges they ought to face especially in relation to the condition of providing education to individuals coming from multiage groups. The help provided by these facilities, tools and materials are essentially important in perceiving the success of the entire program.

Capital Equipment Required

Cost and Allocation of Finances

The estimation of the costing of the project to be implemented herein is highly dependent on how much the enjoined organizations are willing to provide for the program. Relatively, some of the needs that have been posted herein could be duly contributed as part of the support that the organizations have towards the program being imposed. When it comes to the venue, it is the desire of the project managers to find a way to pick areas that are almost free of charge hence lowering the cost of the operation.

Given that the program is to last for a month in each target community, it is expected that it is to gain certain attention from its beneficiaries. This could only be possible through the utilization of good proctors and trainers who are to give presentations, lectures and activities to willing learners as they step into the possibility of accepting ISP programs to be installed in their own homes. Paying the fees of these proctors would depend on how many shall be hired based on the scheduled services that they are to provide for the programs completion.

Daily expenses for the operation would also include electricity and water use. These expenses ought to be recorded and paid for so as to mark the daily activities that are enjoined within the program. Positively, this shall allow the organizers to make assumptive adjustments that would best fit the needs of the clients served in the process.

As based from the WBS file created, there is an estimated $124.00 cost of operation for the preparation of the project (which is handled at the first month) being planned and an estimated $166.00 of daily expense including workforce, venue, city services and tools as well as materials to be used for the implementation of the program. Hence, to calculate, there would be 30 days in a month [which is the duration of a community-targeted month-long program] the overall monthly expense would amount to $4,980.00. Given that the duration of the project is to last for six months targeting six communities, the overall expense for operation is expected to be at $29,880.00 plus the primary cost of $124.00 for the planning phase, the overall project budget should be accounted for at $30,004.00.
