Package Making and RFID, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 319

Essay

When it comes to tracking packages as they are being transferred from one location to another, it is important to make sure that each item is recorded according to its current location. This way, the packages are kept on the schedule as it travels according to the intended route towards its destination. However, due to distance and other elements considered during travel, there are instances when tracking the said packages becomes largely impossible. Usually, such approach to tracking involves the inclusion of several human encoders who are assigned to make sure that the location of the packages is recorded accordingly. This process however means that the business should be able to release amicable amount of resources that could jeopardize the financial standing of the organization.

This is the reason why the search for a more cost effective approach in tracking packages has been introduced to the supplier-receivers end in the business. RFID or Radio Frequency Identification assigns a particular ID to specific items. Based on their characteristics [color, weight, matter form, etc] the ID is used to assure that the route the packages travel is the correct one and to make sure that everything shall arrive according to schedule. Relatively, instead of employing several laborers, RFID is able to complete tracking tasks through high-end technology. What makes it more practical is the fact that it gives accurate information in real-time basis. In this regard, it is then considered that RFID is the more practical way to go. Relatively, it is through this fact that businesses become willing enough to subject themselves in a one-time investment than to suffer inaccuracy while paying laborers along the way. Understandably, in the future, it is expected that RFID operations could do more than just track the packages, but also make sure of their safety and the impact they may have on the environment.
