Pathophysiology of Lyme Disease, Research Paper Example

Traditional antibiotics, mainly doxycycline, are not the only form of treatment for Lyme disease, although they are widely felt to be the most effective and proven treatment. People who are inclined to seek homeopathic remedies may find that herbal treatments reduce the inflammatory symptoms associated with the condition. While some patients insist that herbs, such as astragalus, Cat’s Claw, Japanese Knotwood and andrographis not only treat their painful symptoms but actually cure Lyme disease, others view these treatments as merely experimental, with traditional antibiotic treatment as the more reliable path (Lyme Disease Treatment: Herbs, 2012.)
