Relationship between Physical and Physiological Activities

Any training activity, whether aerobic or anaerobic, results to physiological changes in the body. The change that accompanies the training activity varies according to the intensity of training and environmental conditions (Miller, 215). The ease with which an individual performs some of these activities depends on factors such as previous training and the level of stability of the physiological state of the body. This research study, in addition to evaluating the long-term effect of training on the body’s adaptation, will seek to establish physiological responses that are unique to either aerobic or anaerobic training.

The level of oxygen supply dictates the occurrence of aerobic and anaerobic processes. The physiological signs that characterize the aerobic process include an increase in the metabolic rate of the body and change in the durational interval of the heartbeat. Extensive sweating and a thirsty feeling accompany these symptoms. In contrary, the anaerobic process entails the utilization of energy stored in the muscles in the form of fat. Burning off more calories stored in the body muscles in the form of fat results in a burnout effect that is likely to be felt after the exercise (Miller, 215).

There are varied long-term effects of either process. Among the long-term impact of the aerobic process is a broadened aerobic capability of the body and reduced resting heartbeat. Still, long-term practice under the process results to increase in the size of the capillaries (Berning et al., 89). The anaerobic process has long term effects that entail an increase in the ability of the body to tolerate increased lactic acid levels. The effects additionally range from the secretionof glycolysis accompanied by the enlarged size of muscle fibres.
