Political Belonging to the Nation, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 260

Essay

Loyalty necessary to ensure the strength and survival of a nation. In the United States, a lack of loyalty has created many of the problems that exist today. It is important for all citizens to remember what both the country and those who serve the country have done to improve their lives. Ultimately, a nation that does not stand together is weak and it is important for us to recognize this in order to remove dissent and live more harmonious lives. Doing so must start with gaining an increased level of respect for our Commander in Chief. While not all citizens may agree with his decisions, it is important to provide him with support due to his role as leader of the military.

A saddening event occurred recently when the Speaker of the house openly invited Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to the House of Representatives. Typically, the president is responsible for dealing with international affairs and this action undermined his authority. This was a damaging event because it makes the United States appear weak and divided. While Congress has the ability to express their political opinions, it should not be done in a manner that compromises the image of the country.

It is important for the individuals who supported this decision to understand that regardless of political ideology, it is necessary to be loyal to the president because loyalty to our leaders is equivalent to loyalty to the country. If this is understood and carried out, the United States will continue to grow in strength for many years to come.
