The text is composed of thousands of entries which include the works of Schinkel, Loos, Le Corbusier, van der Rohe and Libeskind.   The biographies and works of the architects are detailed.  The eras in which the architects achieved their successful endeavors are delineated in the book.   The book also contains line depictions which facilitate the understanding of the reader.

Dyson, S. L. (2008). In pursuit of ancient pasts: A history of classical archaeology in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Yale University Press.

Dyson reviewed the work of Schindel, Loos, Van Der Rohe and Le Corbusier in this book.  In addition, the five points which had been mentioned by Le Corbusier were detailed.  The work and contributions of Libeskind were reviewed.  The relationship between the ornamental architecture of Schindel and the functional architecture proposed by Le Corbusier, van der Rohe and Libeskind were explored.

Le Corbusier (1986). Toward a new architecture. Courier Publications. 

This is a non- modified version of the original treatise that was proposed by Le Corbusier in 1931.  The theories of the five points of architecture are delineated.  The experiments that were performed by Le Corbusier with regards to the application of the five point architectural perspective are manifest in the book.  In addition, Le Corbusier documented the success that he experienced with his architectural perspective at the Weisenhoff Siedlung.  This was a home that was constructed in Stuttgart, Germany.  Villa Savoye was a conceptual design that is discussed in the book.

Pacuk,  M. (2015). Revitalization of port areas in the example of the south- east Baltic Sea cities.  Problems of Regional and Local Development in Polish, Russian and Lithuanian parts of the South Baltic Arc, 109. 

In the article, Pacuk reviews the qualities of port cities.  Pacuk defines three categories of port cities.  In the treatise, the port city influences the development of the surrounding area.  The main point that is discussed by Pacuk is the capacity of the port being able to adapt when the traditional industries are modified.

Spohn, W. (2003). Transformation process, modernization patterns and collective identities: Democratization, Nationalism and religion in post-communist Germany, Poland and Russia.  Post-communist transformation and the social sciences: Cross – disciplinary approaches.  Rowan and Littlefield.  

Spohn reviews the economic, social and cultural transformations that occurred during the period of 1989- 1990 in Eastern Europe.  The democratization, nationalization and modernization process are detailed.  The process of changing from a government directed economic system to a market derived economic system alters the value and the use of the real estate.  In addition, Spohn reviews the participation of the Catholic Church in the Polish Solidarity movement.

Stangel, M. (2011). Transformation of derelict into mixed – use urban neighborhood-Case studies in the Polish cities. Silesian University of Technology, Gilwice Poland.

Stangel reviews the process of the revitalization of residential and industrial areas in the various parts of Poland.  There is an emphasis that is placed in the revitalization of the Gdansk shipyards in the center of the city.  Stangel demonstrates that the development of the nation is correlated to its ability to renovate the brownfield areas.
