Prospect Park, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 298

Essay

Visiting Prospect Park during winter is a very bleak experience for me. The land is covered with snow and the trees are dry and barren. The park is also very quiet, as no animals or people, for that matter are out and about in the park. Most people, however, take advantage of The Long Meadow at this time of the year as it provides a perfect area for sledding and other winter activities such as building a snowman. Trees shed their leaves and the ground becomes dry and lifeless. Flowers become out of season as well. Most visitors enjoy the various indoor activities that one can offered by Prospect Park during winter time such as art and crafts activities at the Lefferts Historic House or a tennis game at the Tennis Center.

Meanwhile, spring in Prospect Park is filled with life and color. Flowers and trees once again start to grow and bloom, which is a wonder to behold as Prospect Park has an impressive amount of natural flora. One by one, animals living in the park come out of hibernation and start to wander around the park. The lake comes to life as the water starts to run within the park. Spring is also the time of the year that most people visit the park to enjoy nature, bask in the sun and simply relax. It is the perfect area for kids to discover nature while adults can take advantage of the beautiful scenery and take part in outdoor activities. Rolling hills are covered with fresh green grass. One can also hear the waterfall’s gentle waves as the waters drops and travel throughout the waterways which are realistically man-made. Taking a stroll through Prospect park at spring would revel cherry blossoms, daffodils and crocuses in all their splendor
