The book contains specific references to Freud’s Theory of Personality and examines this from a socio psychological perspective. This is an authoritative and useful book for gaining a wider appreciation of psychology covering both concepts and application. Dr. Jeffrey Nevid is Professor of Psychology at St. John’s University in New York. Dr. Nevid also served as Editorial Consultant for the journals Health Psychology and Psychology and Marketing and as Associate Editor for the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. Although the book does not spend any great length of study on Freud’s theories it does provide a good interface to psychology theories further assisting the interpretation of Freud’s doctrines.
