Introduction
The team has utilized such factors as governance, resources, the appropriate leadership in place, and the involvement of key stakeholders, according to Fuller. However, the team has a long way to go in order to accomplish its desired objectives and to be recognized for its value and contributions to the organization as a whole. It is expected that the team must embody the core values and a shared vision of the organization and embrace its culture more effectively in order to accomplish team-based objectives in a cohesive manner. The team has much work to do in these areas and should develop a greater focus on organizational needs and expectations in order to thrive.
Analysis
There are opportunities within the team to expand its understanding of culture and the expectations that are likely to occur with this process. The team must recognize that its role must fit into a much larger picture of the organization and its primary strategic objectives (Heathfield, 2013). These conditions represent a means of exploring the different dimensions of culture that play a role in team dynamics and in establishing an effective means of growth and change that coincide with organizational needs (Heathfield, 2013). There are considerable opportunities in place to develop new perspectives that support the team dynamic and the ability to achieve the desired goals and objectives. The team culture is perhaps the most critical aspect of the team’s success over the long term.
The team must also “own” its objectives and provide a real opportunity to communicate, collaborate, and to promote accountability for specific actions and tasks (Global Leadership Foundation, 2013). These contributions are essential to the success of the team endeavor and the use of experienced leadership in order to accomplish the desired objectives of the team (Global Leadership Foundation, 2013). When the team dynamic is in place, demonstrates stability, and emphasizes the appropriate strategic goals, it is possible for the team to achieve greater success and achievement within the scope of the chosen project and its primary objectives. These elements also demonstrate the importance of other factors, such as cross-training, informality in some settings to encourage greater discussion, and proper utilization of available resources in order to accomplish these objectives in a desirable manner (Economy, 2013). These objectives will play an important role in establishing value-based approaches to performing the required tasks and in developing new strategies for growth that the team will support on a consistent basis (Economy, 2013).
Conclusion
The development of a successful team-based approach to manage a project and a set of specific tasks requires an effective understanding of the team culture and its contribution to team success. It is important to establish teams wisely and with the appropriate talent in order to accomplish the chosen objectives; however, this practice also requires a greater understanding of the challenges of team cultures and acclimating that culture to coincide with the organizational culture. This is an important step in utilizing available resources and relying upon key leaders in order to achieve the desired objectives. Team-based approaches to specific tasks also demonstrate the importance of new factors in promoting team success over the long term. It is expected that the team strategy must align itself with the organization in order to ensure that all possible frameworks are being met and the organization will benefit from the team and its primary tasks. With these objectives in mind, it is possible for organizations to achieve greater success and to accomplish their goals more effectively when they have aligned their culture with the organization in order to minimize confusion and promote growth and change.
