Case Study

Ergonomics Report

Ergonomic studies mainly focus on acquiring information regarding the work environments of a company. Acme being a manufacturing company, will provide a good example that is of best interest in the study of how ergonomic factors affect the progress of the companies and its workers. The environment with which the environment works us an excellent determinant factor in the success of a company. Acme as a company feels that the area that still poses a significant threat to a favorable working environment within the company and as a result, the company feels it is an area where much information needs to be gathered. It is, therefore, their interest that the study should be oriented towards the company’s parking line. Generally, the study was conducted to improve on the performance, safety, and comfort of the company’s working environment (Hernandez, 2018).

Report Details

As per the study requirements, the study emphasized on the form, size, and the availability of the parking spaces within the company. The study focused on how the parking area is situated in a way that considers the safety of the individuals and their properties. It also focused on the accessibility and the general hygiene of the area. The results of the study showed that the parking line is an area that the company still needs to put more emphasis on improving its conditions. The parking spaces available are not enough to cater for the needs of the company’s employees and visitors. The result also found that the location of the parking space would make it very difficult to handle hazardous circumstances like the fire outbreak. This challenge can also be attributed to the fact that the area is overcrowded, and accessibility is a challenge. The close distance between the cars at the parking has a double challenge to those using the facility as it hinders access of the spaces (Hernandez, 2018). This is also the reason why rescuing the cars in case of a fire outbreak can be an issue of concern.

Recommendations

In conclusion, the challenges that the company workers are experiencing regarding the parking issues is an issue of concern that should be addressed keenly to ensure that the interests of the visitors and the employees. The issues are all a result of the lack of spaces between the parking lines to promote easy access to the facility. Generally, the facility also needs to be expanded to accommodate more vehicles. Also, the location of the parking spaces should be in areas that do not create any jam when driving in and out (Hernandez, 2018).
